This is the classic schwarzbier stuff! Deep black to ruby red, a long lasting head. Really nice palate, nutty, roasted malts, hints of chocolate and a sweetness that is well balanced with the hops. A refreshing beer, though it looks "heavy", and one of my favourites. Furthermore; nice bottle design!

Light roasted aroma. Black color, medium tanned head. Medium bitterness, very light sweetness. A bit thin. Porter-like.

Opaque black pour with moderate beige foam. Rich roasted caramel malt in the nose with a touch of anise. Medium / light body with little fizziness. The malts dominate but the hop bitterness emerges as it warms. Lighter than I expected, but a good experience. Sampled at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival 2017.

500 ml bottle in Düsseldorf. Dark brown to black clear beer with light beige foam, average retention and lacing. Roasted malt, chocolate aroma, notes of coffee. Predominantly sweet, toasted caramel malts, smoother as espected. No roasted malts hints in taste and little bitterness.

Bottle from a local EDEKA market!
Pours deep black with a beige creamy head. Aroma has roadted malts and burnt coffee. Taste is sweet and bitter roasty with some burnt malts. Dry bitter coffee finish.

Bottle from the Good Spirits Co Wine & Beer. Pours a dense black, with a generous tan head. Not much aroma, and smells like lager, no sign of roasted malt. Palate is a bit on the sheet side, low bitterness, no burnt or roasty character evident, a little metallic hop bitterness towards the finish. Palate is light, fairly clean, medium length. I was expecting some roasted malt character here, but it’s as if they’re saving money by just using caramel instead. If you think of it as a lager and just ignore the colour, you’ll enjoy this.

Opaque brown/black, thin fluffy head. Smell is hops, a little dark fruit. A bit of roasted caramel flavor and then gone. Very light body, some charred aftertaste. Cheap and inoffensive.

Deep dark brown hue with a thin light beige head. Dark roasty toasty smooth dark lagerish aroma. Crisp light flavor that’s gently roasty and gently sweet, a little bit dark, smooth and well rounded but just a bit too light.

Bottle @ Whole Foods - Beautiful black color. Not bad aroma. But it was like drinking a weak, thin & watery Porter. Nothing to get excited about, and not only will i never waste $2- bucks on one again, i will never recommend it to anyone...unless they like dark, thin, watery beers.

Pours a dark black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is faint malts, just not getting anything same with the taste. I’m disappointed after what I’ve read. Another beer that taste ok but is just lacking substance.
