Bottle in Germany. Black color, roasted malts, bread, mild bitter and dry finsh Schnabelhund (107) - TAIWAN - SEP 14, 2017
Köstritzer is pours a dark brown color with a red hue that shines through the glass. The head doesn’t last particularly long and leaves no lacing behind. The nose is malt-forward with notes of prunes and rye bread. The flavor follows the nose with gentle roasty bitterness, dark bread, dried dark fruits, and a caramel note without being too sweet. It's nicely balanced but maybe not as flavorful as expected. The mouthfeel is gentle as the carbonation is not particularly strong, but a little thin. The finish is somewhat short but pleasant if you like the heat from the alcohol well hidden. A casual rustic beer. kustie (1244) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2017
