The first of september, the dark season starts. I pick a Kozel Cerny what I bought on my vacation in the Czech Republic. This beer is dark and good, could be a bit more bitter. But I like this kind of beer.

dark brown,....dark red under a lamb color, foamy not lasting head, the best dark/czech I ever had with less than 4% alc ..Malty aroma with notes of caramel and hops. The flavour is dominated by malt with some sweetnes and metallic notes.. Slightly bitter finish

Canned. Dark ruby brown, medium-sized off-white head. Toasted rye bread aroma, little salmiak. Flavor has slight licorice, sweet roasty rye bread, molasses, slight coal and metal in the finish. Light to medium bodied, a tad coarse carbonation, some sugariness on the palate. I hate the saccharine, but have to admit that this is still pretty alright flavourwise.

Can 0,50L. Clear dark red - amber colour with big, frothy, light brown head. Light aroma of roasted malts, caramel, milk chocolate, brown sugar and honey. Taste is light sweet with caramel note. Medium body, watery texture and soft carbonation. An average dunkel beer...

Can. Dark brown with huge brown head. Aroma sweet, rye bread, malt. Nice. Taste roasted malts and rather sweet, again lots of rye bread notes. A nice beer and lot of taste for so little alcoholcontent.

Aroma has dark bread and malts. Nice dark head, and color is dark brown. Smooth and fulfilling flavor, dark malts bring some sweetness. It’s like bread that is transformed into beer, brilliant!

Jest dobrze. Pomimo słabego aromatu, piwo ma fajny wygląd i dobry smak. Jest przy okazji bardzo pijalne. Za tą cenę (3,20 zł) mogę pić częściej;)

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2011 Cheap and tasty beer. A bit too sweet, in the other hand the taste is really warm and rich. (New rating, not so tasty or rich after all!)

Gangstergafje (1034) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - AUG 2, 2015
The beer has a reddish brown color, like cola. The foam is almond colored and not very abundant. The beer looks delicious. The smell has some roasted barley, but it isn’t that strong. The bitter sweetroast aroma is nice. The taste is very mellow and has the same bittersweet roast flavor as the smell has. There is a tiny hoppy undertone. The palate isn’t that great, the beer misses some fizzling.
