UPDATED: MAY 19, 2012 Black dark brown clear body with beige creamy long lacing head. Aromas are lirocire malts, roasted malts, grass, plum fruit or herbs. Palate is slick soft medium-bodied, with soft smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. Taste is sweet roasty, raisins and medium dryness. Aftertaste sweet malty and with dry medium finish. Overall good dunkel, smooth and drinkable.

Bottle 500 ml, brown, extract of wort 10%
Dark amber, wattery, red to dark red or even beown,. Head is quite long lasting and grey, carbonation is weak. Flavour is of malts and sweet caramell plus some additional artificial sweetness; quite wattey, Munich malts, no hoppy aroma.

LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2002
Dark brown colour with a decent off-white head. Nice aroma that is dominated by chocolate (and roasted malts). Lightly sweet, very smooth flavour with hints of chocolate and caramel. If this beer had a higher ABV (with a better palate and longer finish etc.), this would be an excellent beer. However, I really do like this beer - the taste just dies too quickly.

Is that some chocolate malt I smell before me? Taste has some coffee-like bitterness but needs more actual flavour, more depth and power. Also quite watery.

Can. Pours dark brown with medium brown non-lasting head. Aroma is malt syrup and caramel. Taste is medium sweet. Body is watery with soft carbonation. Finish is short, sweet and metallic.

Panzerfaust (848) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - JUN 29, 2015
Pours a dark brown color with a tan head that shows good retention. Aroma of toasted and chocolate malts. Deep notes of cocoa, butter, milk and hot chocolate. Really nice and enticing. Taste is moderately sweet, subtle and enveloping. It reaches a high peak after holding it in the mouth for a few seconds. Aftertaste is almost as intense. Tastes like a mixture betwen a Bock and a Porter. Velvety palate, smooth and medium carbonated. Medium bodied. Alcohol unnoticeable but shows layers of complexity despite being barely 3.8% ABV. By far the best dark beer I tried during my trip to Germany (so far...).

2.9
Kriegbaum (845) - Randers, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2010
Flaske 50 cl. Brun farve med rřdelig skćr, beige hoved som hurtigt falder. Aroma er brćndt malt og sřdme. Smagen er ristet og karamel met sřdlige toner. Lidt tynd og vandig med lille bitter finale.
