500ml Flasche. Geruch angenehm rauchig, malzig, Karamell. Geschmack leicht rauchig, röstmalzig, würzig.

kappldav123 (6097) - GERMANY - FEB 15, 2014
Bottle looks simle but good. Beer in the glass brownish, small head. Malty-smokey aroma. Starts malty and spicy, mild smokey notes, hints of caramel. Finish less smokey, a bit grasy. Not bad!

Roublard (218) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 9, 2013
Impressive aroma of smoked malts with a proper foam. Lightly bitter, lightly sour, medium sweetness.oily feel, medium body, long finish.

Erzengel (8619) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUN 12, 2013
--> Sehr leckeres, dezent-rauchiges Dunkel

Shaney (2423) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2013
Delikat!

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, apricot), with notes of smoked meat, DMS (cabbage!), smoke/ash. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic. While the first whiff had some promise, it didn’t take long for the cabbagey odor to appear. Fairly dirty aftertaste as well. A dumper.

rauchbierlover (648) - Berlin, Berlin, GERMANY - APR 29, 2013
Clear orange, small white head. Malty aroma. Malty, slightly metal, some smoke. Malty long finish. Body medium, lively carbonation

Kita (2117) - Koper, SLOVENIA - DEC 29, 2012
On tap, 0.25l. Hazy amber brown color with thin and tan-like head. Lightly smoked malt aroma and notes of grassy hops. Tastes gently smoked with light bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. It’s not Schlenkerla, but still fairly pleasant...

draft at Kraus in Hirschaid
lightly hazed golden amber body with a small white head. simple sweet grain / corn in the nose, similar flavor but with touches of DMS. tart and starchy flavor, low hop presence, doughy yeast, seems stale, lifeless and simple, with an oily and very thin texture. the smoke is nearly impossible to find; I guess it comes across as some sort of cigarette ask and stale, dried pork, but I wouldn’t even guess there *was* smoked malt in here if I wasn’t told beforehand. a simple beer in poor shape, uncared-for by the people who brought it into the world.
