Leblos im Glas, ohne Kohlensäure. So muffig wie es riecht, so schmeckt es auch! Leicht hopfig im Abgang! TAR (2787) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - APR 18, 2017
Bottle best by Aug. 26, 2013 consumed in May 2013: Deep golden. Persistent crown of white foam. Sloppy nose of DMS, Red Delicious apple, and fusel alcohol (hairspray) with just a touch of toasted bread (Munich malt). Soft, restrained carbonation. Grainy maltiness is felt up front, and a flabby trailing of overripe apple underlies this. Hop bitterness comes across as spent tealeaves, very limp and akin to wet grass clippings. Sloppy malt never redeems itself as it lacks definition and fails to contribute anything texturally, which enables the dull and soured apple juice notes to run rampant. A mucky yeast note lends a toasted dough characteristic late. Malt feels cardboardy and flimsy in the floral-kissed finish, as a hint of DMS lingers. A muddled and unclean rendition.
