Pours a pale amber with a white head. Has kind of a musty odor too. I wasnt a fan of this. Had it while I was in Paris and was unimpressed. The best way i can describe this one is its like the budweiser of europe. Cheap and widely available. It isnt as awful as bud, but it is very bland and has no complexity to it. Wouldnt buy it again.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2008 On draft at a bar in Paris. Pours a pale golden with a medium white head and an unpleasant "old" aroma. A bit sweet and not to bitter, this is just your evereyday lager, nothing special to this at all. Not bad, but theres nothing special to this too

What does $100 USD (roughly 65 Euros) buy you in Paris, France? 2 bottles of French wine and 3 beers (ratings when I feel like it), with this brew as the fill gap for the remaining amount of money- many thanks to my friend Gary. 75 cl screwtop green bottle poured into shaker- poured transparent thin golden yellow, paper thin white head that actually had some lacing, very little carbonation. Strong aroma of wheat/barley malt, some sourness in the nose. Hits the mouth with a thin body, malt comes through cleanly, little if any sweetness which is wonderful, finish has a mild bitter note but otherwise is clean and rather refreshing. Very nice for the bottom end of my 3 brews... and a pale lager at that!

Can. Slightly sour barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt flavor. A standard pale lager - nothing unpleasant.

25cl bottle. Pours pale clear yellow with a white foam. Grassy & grainy malt flavor. A bit of sweetness. Thin body with a medium carbonation. Very decent pale lager. Used to drink this right from the bottle when I was younger!

I figured that a Kronenbourg was the same, no matter what the label. This version is distinctive with its metal smell & taste, despite being in a glass bottle!

My first though upon opening this can was, "well, thats an unfortunately strong aroma." Powerful metallic smell along with half-blackened banana peels, bubblegum (still in the wrapper) , stale baguette and granulated white sugar. Medium golden hue, perfectly clear with no head to speak of, just a transparent, white foam on top of the beer. The flavour isnt nearly as monstrously terrible as the aroma, thankfully. Grainy, with some bananas up front, and it fades into a slightly peppery finish. Eh, theres a little bit of banana peel-like astringency in the finish, though...and some aspirin aroma/flavour as it warms. Light to medium bodied with a texture that clings just a little too long in the mouth. Moderate, harsh carbonation. Riddled with flaws, no truly redeeming qualities expect for its lack of retch-inducing aromas and flavours. 50cl can, Duvel tulip, bbe 06/2008, listed @ 4.2% abv.

Can. Aroma is cheap hops and tin can. Quite possibly worse than the 1664. Flavor is dishwater and old pennies.

Not much here. Light with no real head. Very smooth (as water is) Looks better than it tastes.
