Bottle bought in Hannover, labelled 5.4% and subtitled "cream stout". The label colour and design is different too. Pours black with a thin light beige head and a roasty, dried dark fruit, coffee and demerara nose with a touch of cocoa. Initially creamy texture with coffee and prune notes. Burnt bitterness and a touch of treacle toffee, more roast burnt coffee and a little liquorice. A solid dry stout. jonas (7552) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle, thanks Palle! Almost black, brown collapsing layering head. Coffe, chocolate roast aroma with preserved fruit notes. Nice base roast, good moccha flavors with cedarwood and vanilla notes, berries, bitter hops and roast finish. Medium to light body with a good chewyness and sparkle. Nice one. gringoroll (62) - viña del mar, CHILE - MAR 16, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2013 Pours a clear reddish black when held to the light, light foam which didn’t last. Strong aromas of coffee, malts, and dried fruits, slight sour element as well. Very strong coffee flavor with some chocolate notes as well, but well balanced with strong bitter. Light to medium body and light carbonation. Good beer. Me encanto esta cerveza. Un olor un tanto acaramelado al tomarla se siente esa mezcla de sabores donde destacan esas notas de cafe tostados. una gran cerveza de las mejores de kross rmussman (1701) - California, USA - FEB 14, 2012
Sampled in Valparaiso. Really enjoyed this brew. The toasted malts a some of the best I had in South America. A decent head on it. Would have liked to have tried at room temperature. ALLOVATE (3004) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 18, 2011
Pours jet-black with a firm, compact tan head that lasts and laces well. Big, thick mudcake and coffee liqueur nose with Kopiko candy, plums and charred wood, very nice. In the mouth it has notes of vanilla, heavily roasted cacao beans and milk chocolate, pasty, ashen ’black patent’ and smoke. Assertively bitter, burnt malt swallow, shows good length, a lot of burnt wood, ash and chocolate. Becomes drier and drier the more I drink. Smooth in the swallow but an acid bite upfront is very prickly and uncharacteristic, being its only detriment. Quite light in body, enough flavour here carries it well. A surprisingly good Stout, didn’t know what to make of it just from the label. Nice! (33cL, 5.2% ABV, BBE 11/10, The Beer Store Morley) davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 16, 2010
Bottle 330ml. Great beer. Aromas of chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet, with very light bitterness, and long lasting. Palate is silky, and medium bodied. Black, with a frothy white head. mkel07 (5848) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 2, 2010
330ml bottle. Thick, oily and black with a coffee bean aroma and a frothy tan latte coloured head. Burnt malt also comes through in the aroma and the body is thinner than it appears with a burnt coffee flavour that feels good in the mouth.
