bartlebier (3931) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2016
50cl bb06/2016, as simply Krug-Bräu Lager. Surprisingly dark amber pour. Rustic farmhouse aroma, stewed/smoked apples and buckwheat porridge. Slightly smoky, going on Schlenkerla Lager in taste, with some dairy creaminess and that distinct juniper-like spelty edge in the malt base. Plenty of character, easy drinking. Seems like Krug-Bräu anticipates/overlaps with Czech brewing techniques and does not shy away from painting with a buttery brush.

rauchbier (3872) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2006
Draught, at Hütt’n in Nürnberg, October 2006. Copper bronze good white head and low condition. Gentle sweet caramel malt aromas, sweet caramel slight earthy bitterness in the mouth, and a gentle funky dry bitter finish with low sweet caramel notes.

Unclear amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of malt, toffee, weak sour and barn. A flavor of toffee, barn, malt and bread.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 2, 2008
Dark coppery colored with medium sized light brown head. Sweet caramelly and chocolaty aroma with fine hops and some grainy earthy tone. Medium bodied, somehow sticky palate. Flavor is also sweet with chocolate, still some yeasty-flowery-vegetably note here, it actually fits here well. That flavor lasts in drying aftertaste. Good beer.

Test vom 22.3.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,5,5,5,11,5 - 6,00

Pour was dark/brown, off white head, lacing ok. Aroma of nuts and caramel and roasted malts. Flavor followed with some bread and herbal and grassy hoppy notes. Mouthfeel full for the style, even a little slick.
