bierkoning (13243) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2014 Aroma has wood and fruit (pear, pineapple). Thick, creamy, long-lasting head. Low carbonation, although more than some other beers of this type. Hoppy and fruity. Hopbitter finish with some (beech)wood. That was a long time ago! From bottle, october 2014. Dark brown color. Chocolate and malt in the aroma. Caramel. Malty sweet flavor, bready. Caramelly. Carbonation is soft. Just enough grassy hops the balance the beer out.

Medium white rocky head, which leaves legs on the glass, on the dark brown colored brew.Slightly sulphury nose with an intense clay aroma. Toasted malt taste, nutty - kind of weak body though.

OK. Test vom 1.10.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,12,8,7,10 - 9,75

Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Dark amber to brown color; medium-sized compact head. Nice aroma of cereals and caramel, a bit dusty. The body is thin, the mouthfeel is dry; there is a mix of caramel and cereals flavor; the bitterness is quite strong; the final is also a bit dusty. Quite good.

After drinking lots of hops dominated beers this one was a huge malty surprise. Quaffy, malty, full bodied, easy to go. Some nuts and caramel in the background. But this does not matter as malt wins it all. Good one.

Foerdifuxx (353) - Franconia, GERMANY - APR 12, 2016
clear dark amber coloured beer with a big, long-lasting, off-white head. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel and faint grassy hops, some fruits. Taste is dominated by roasted malt, some soft hoppiness for the balance. Very smooth in texture, medium body, average carbonation. High trinkability but to be honest, not my first beer this evening.
