Scopey (16550) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2018
Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours clearish yellow - good with a medium bubbly white head. The aroma is fairly fresh, grassy, straw, floral, white bread and some sponge cake. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, lemony, lime, straw, pithy, zesty, soda water and some pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent enough lagerbier.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2017 Grassy fresh hop aroma. Crisp, medium bitter taste. No cardboard or vegetable taste whatsoever. Malty finish. A prime example of a Pils, absolutely delicious.

Tap. Golden, white lace. Light butter notes, grainy, dry chalk, straw retronasal, broad aromatic hops with staying power, quaffable, quite franconian/Czech.

Keg at akkurat Smooth lager, Nice bitterness, dry. Nice mouthfell. Not that complex to deserve higher grades

My Bottom Line:
Quite mineral from beginning to end, this crisp Pilsener displays a pleasant balance between hay and grass flavors, all in a delicate and bubbly setting.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sturdy foam hat is set upon the gleaming pale golden.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-Hops could be a tad bolder, at least to overcome the mineral character.
-Flavor clarity is excellent.

Bottle.

Bottle from Tante Frizzante - Clear golden color, small white head. Taste is spicy, herbs, floral hops, hay. Fresh and crisp. Finish is grainy and much bitter. Bit unbalanced, good Pils still.
