Pyrmir (6196) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - APR 22, 2015
Big bottle in Malawi. Golden with white head. Aroma and taste has pale malt, bread, perfumy and soapy hop notes and grass. The go-to beer in Malawi, pretty good actually

2.6
Erzengel (9334) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - AUG 11, 2017
Bottle shared with Beerhunter111, Koelschtrinker & Zlotta. Country #175. Smooth grainy beginning. watery but grainy in the aroma. Sessionable, quite good for a pale lager. Refreshing, hints of grain, not too sweetish.

2.4
durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 29, 2008
500ml bottle in Malawi. This is not very much different from Carlsberg Green, the only other lager one can get in Malawi. Both are brewed by Carlsberg, but this one is marketed toward locals ("Mowa wathu wathu" is the slogan, which means "Our beer"). A thoroughly average lager; not bad for the heat of Africa. Pale yellow with nice head; grain and slight sweetness. Watery. Cheaper and bigger than Carlsberg Green... if you’re in Malawi, go for it.

KnutAlbert (6771) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 29, 2012
Pale golden beer. While this has a hint of carboard, you feel there is a certain Carlsberg standard to this, light malt bopdy and some hoppy bitterness. Far better than your average AFrican lager.

2.4
jamestulloch (4261) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 7, 2015
Bottle from Peoples, Chitakale. Clear golden body with a fluffy white head. Lively fizz. Light lacing. Aroma of steel and sour grain. Flavour of grass and a trace of hops. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Quite astringent but not bad after a day of 35 degrees heat.

thorongil2 (3342) - , Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2017
(Bottle) clear, bright yellow colour with a small white head; aroma if noble hops, hint of metal; balanced flavour with a long, very light bittersweet finish

Koelschtrinker (21171) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUL 29, 2017
Danke an zlotta. Geruch nach nasser Weide. Wässriger, leicht herber Beginn. Minimal getreidig, dumpf würzig, langweilig, für 3,7% aber keinesfalls wässrig. Okay! 9/7/7/8/6/7

JulienHuxley (5909) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 25, 2011
Bottle. Pours very pale yellow. Aroma lots of grain on the aroma, some off notes of fermentation. Taste is sweet, grainy. Palate is watery. At least it doesnt stink of skunk. Decent for what it is I guess, I was expecting something much worse.

larsga (7625) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 10, 2015
Biggish white head quickly shrinks. Clear pale copper body with small particles. Mealy fruity aroma with caramelly herbal notes. Dry caramelly cardboard taste with watery notes. Mid-to-thin body. Mild, sharpish, mealy mouthfeel. Dry chalky cardboard aftertaste with herbal notes. It’s not bad, but not very impressive, either. (0.75l bottle, gift from wife.)

I think I’d agree with Durhambeer. I am having a bottle in Malawi and find it drinkable, nothing special. Light color, slightly grainy sweet. I can’t smell so may be generous in giving it a 5 rather than leave it at the default. Purchased at a grocery store for about 57 cents U.S., plus 15 cents deposit which I will forfeit, so for the price... it is much less than what I pay at the hotel bar! It would be good as a thirst-quencher in hot weather - a lawnmower beer. I think I’d rather drink this than most huge U.S. beers (Bud, Miller, etc) but I have lived in Africa for a year now and am going through ale withdrawals... As durhambeer pointed out - cheaper than Carlsberg green but in a bigger bottle (Kuche Kuche is also brewed by the Malawi Carlsberg brewery). Does not list ingredients but I assume it has a healthy dose of added sugars.
