motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - DEC 5, 2012
bottle, picked up at pivoteka in pilsen. quite dark for the style, brown with a touch of purple around the edges; surprisingly roasty aroma and suggestions of oatmeal stout; nice caramelised soy flavours and decent bitterness. a rich and stocky version of a dunkel and all the more enjoyable for it

Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2009
bottle, bought at Markthalle Abensberg. Clear dark brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Intensive aroma of roasetd malts. Malty, with intensive flavours of roasetd malt and caramel. Medium-bodied, pleasantly hoppy with hints of dark chocolate and cocoa powder in the lingering finish. A delicious Dunkel.

My Bottom Line:
Earthy hops join toasted and nutty malts until wooden bitterness seals this gentle Dunkel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the dark brown with ruby highlights.
-Light cherry-like Munich malt fruitiness appears in the middle.
-Mouthfeel is silky and very drinkable.
-The flavor profile is balanced.

At Dicker Mann, Regensburg.

Tap. It’s mahoganyred with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel and syrup. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of full bodied caramel, syrup, light licorice and the finish is slightly dry. A nice dunkel.
