kto (1608) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 19, 2016
0.33l bottle from bierlinie in berlin. bb 16.07.2016. pours a cloudy chestnut with a nice dense steady creamy head with good retention and lacing. aroma of roast, dark chocolate, spruce, dark fruits. flavour of chocolate, bread, nuts, raisins, herbs. somewhat astringent mouthfeel. not sure how the tonka beans are supposed to taste though -- vanilla?

3.2
Quack-Duck (9534) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 9, 2016
bottle from Heinrichs 3000 Kornwestheim. Deep brown colour, fluffy off-white head. Dar and malty, wuite full-bodied, with hints of cocoa and a shy herbal touch.

2.9
bastarda (506) - Freiburg, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2016
Not really my glass of beer. Aromas of caramel, hints of milk chocolate and vanilla; taste: a lot of caramel, a bit of chocolate and vanilla, sweet and watery towards finish. The tonka beans don’t really come through. Good attempt on a (for me) difficult style that just doesn’t quite convince me.

3.3
ClaudeB04 (408) - Dudelange, LUXEMBOURG - SEP 11, 2016

Clear brown white head.
Sweet caramel with a little hint of smokey.
Nice bock beer.
