2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Deep amber-red pour with a bit of head. The aroma is very unusual. A sort of retsina resin and some rosin sort of character. Aged malt and a bit of red grape character. Loads of honey and spice as well as pine resin. A bit of sweet fruit and some sort of plasticky finish. Strange stuff.

Bottle... Pours hazy and dirty-orange with no head and no legs. The aroma is a strange mingling of methanol, herbal honey and orange marmalade. Full-bodied and viscuous with trace carbonation. Delicious combination of sweet, tart and fruity notes. Finishes tart and tangy. Too much methanol, but still very good overall. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed! First off, I will start by saing I am not a big fan of this style. Anyways, poured a lighter brown with a small off white head. Aroma was mainly honey, with light belgain spices. Flavor was similar, overly sweet, and just a weird mix of mead and beer. Sammy (12105) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 30, 2013

Bottle from January 2011, pours dark purple, almost brown. No head or lacing really, just a thin ring of some clearish looking bubbles. Aroma is the same as when you open up a jam of grape jelly yo. Other notes of dark plum, honey, raisin and more grapes. Taste is heavy grape jam, assorted berry, honey, and juice. No heat present at all. Little kids would enjoy getting shitty on this liquid. Cheers. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2013
On draft at Kuhnhenn. Pours a hazy brown amber with a white head. Nose is some big honey, big booze, raisin, grape, toffee, and candy sweetness. Flavor is similar with big honey, booze, raisin, grape, toffee, big sweetness, and lots of booze. Interesting beer, but in small pours. 50belair (3627) - Florida, USA - JUL 11, 2013

12 ounce bottle poured an amber color with aromas of light honey, brown sugar, light fruit and some caramel. Flavors are the same, light on the palate for the abv, nice overall. phaleslu (10126) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2013
12 oz. bottle shared at the Beer Download table at DLD 2013- thanks! Pours a cloudy amber-brown color. Heavy caramel, brown sugar, banana, and honey, but there’s a plastic note in the flavor that throws it off. Medium-bodied, with a sticky, chewy mouthfeel and low carbonation. Decent mead.
