Pour is pitch black with mocha brown head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, almond, toast, and cocoa. Flavor is semi sweet with a toasty burnt finish. Thick pallate but remains drinkable for the high abv. Pleasantly surprised.

Bottle. Pours black. Aroma and taste are roasted malts, whiskey, chocolate, and vanilla.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of wood, booze, bourbon, vanilla, licorice, chocolate and toffee. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, raisins, booze, bourbon and wood. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Lots of bourbon character. Bit over the top.

12oz bottle. Poured a black color with a tan head. Oak / woodiness, some earthiness, smokey, and chocolate.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, whiskey and oak, some light coffee like notes, hints of vanilla and very faint dark fruits. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Thick texture. A solid imperial stout.

Bottle. Dark brown black pour with nice cola head. Big sour fruit aroma. Taste is fruity brandy with chocolate and bourbon barrel. Slight tangy lemon finish.

Bottle generously shared by AJax, thanks man! Motor oil color with a oily iridescent shine on the top of the stout. Thin tan head mixed with the oily sheen. The aroma is a large Jameson like whiskey up front and foremost. Light underlying chocolate notes.

Deep layers of roasted malts. Coffee, dark chocolate, burnt caramel, sugar, and alcohol burn from whiskey. The whiskey has a strong character that has the lingering warmth after the finish. The smoothness is really incredible considering the 12.9 ABV and strong notes of whiskey. As far as the imperial barrel aged stouts I’ve sampled this is up with BCBS. Wonderful job!

I have no clue who sent me this.

A - It pours viscous like dirty old motor oil. Looks viscous as Hell. No head at all. It’s pitch black, totally black and just thick.

S - Smells like straight up straight whiskey So much liquor on the nose but in no way burning or boozy just a huge liquor smell paired with the richest chocolate.

T - Whoa. The taste is incredible. A fuck ton of whiskey just gobs of it. A crap load of chocolate, a touch of hazelnut and some fresh espresso with layers of red velvet cake, vanilla bean, toffee and straight up brownie batter polished off with this gigantic whiskey explosion that lingers for ever!

M - Thick, oily, hearty and everlasting mouth coating thickness

O - This is not KBBS..not CBS BUT it is very much like a more whiskey forward bourbon county with gobs more chocolate. I still prefer BCS but this is pretty incredible!

Bottle shared with GT2. Nose is wet moss, truffle, chocolate liqeur/Godiva, decadent chocolate pie, graham cracker crust. Tastes like chocolate silk pie with dark chocolate truffle and whipped cream. Not sticky, not even boozy. I wish it had a flufflier mouthfeel, maybe a tad more carbonated. One of the best beers I’ve had.

> World class BA imperial stout with toasted coconut and mega dark chocolate

[ Bottle ][ 12oz ][ northernbrews ][ Trade ][ Pizza Boy Snifter ][ 7.16.14 ]
>> Inky as hell pour with thin, Martian red foam. Wow. Great webby lacing. Nose is slight mildew, baked black cherry, blackcurrant, wet moss, dark chocolate truffle, clafoutis, super intense candied black cherry, maybe a top shelf call Black Russian mixed drink. As it warms, more toasted coconut whiskey barrel. Taste and palate are the highlight- beautiful silky body, toasted coconut style whiskey barrel, tons of dark chocolate and black cherry liquor. Mild acid finish. Bitter and a bit chalky through the finish, but overall very silky. No sweetness, no alcohol, no stickiness, no brewing flaws. Really top notch stuff that reminds me a bit of BBPt5 and Black Note. Backend has a chocolate covered fruit type of balancing acid. Even a tad lactic.
