12oz bottle, listed as 9.5 but can’t find anything else that would fit and the name matches so will rate this here. Pours a dark black with an almost midnight brown head shot through with some ruby, and even though it fades to just a faint dark brown around the glass the initial impression was unique and impressive. Slightly toasted and roasted malts which is quickly overtaken by dark chocolate, almost burnt toffee, alcohol with hints of celery, expresso remains; very thick body that gives the impression of chunkiness, mild+ carbonation, slight sweetness but then a tasty, overwhelming but delicious bitterness that coats the palate and leaves you wanting more as the taste of roasted malts, chocolate and some coffee. Delicious beer. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - AUG 19, 2013

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ [ Craig and Fin Sneak up in the middle of the NIGHT and drink all fonefans beer ].
Dark black colour with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coconut, dark roasted, alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, sweet malt, chocoalte. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of creamy medium-dark chocolate notes with light floral coffee notes with some roasted malt notes but limited bitterness. Taste is quite spectacular with great creamy medium-dark chocolate notes with some floral dry coffee notes, some lactose notes and some medium dry bitter roasted malt to finish. Body is full with luscious creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Quite a balanced experience with loads of flavours while retaining some good amount of drinkability. peteinSD (1469) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 4, 2013
’12 bottle from Sean - thanks! Oily black pour with a very dark expresso colored head that lingers before clinging to the edges of the glass. Aroma is thick and substantial cocoa, roast, chocolate, fudge, and light hop bitterness into the finish. Taste is massive chocolate with roast and darker malt notes including raisin intermingling with a noticeable hop bitterness. Bitter coffee as well in there. Oily and coating mouthfeel with an ebb of carbonation. Huge and clean and glorious.

Thanks to my sister for snagging me one of these as the 2005/2006 release of this beer I traded away my only bottle. So glad to finally get to try it. The 12oz bottle pours with deep darkness and supporting a mocha colored head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, black strap molasses, dark chocolate and a bit of booze at the end of the draw. The taste is similar with black strap molasses, dark roasted malts, some burnt malts and brown sugar sweetened pine hops. The roasty to burnt goodness is hitting the spot right now. Man, I have been waiting a real long time for this. It was well worth the wait. This is dynamite. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Pours pitch black with a medium dark mocha head...looks thick! Aroma has bitter dark chocolate, sweet coffee, and hints of smoke/ash and dark fruits. Flavor has some slightly tangy dark fruit up front that is quickly drowned out by bitter dark chocolate, espresso, and ash. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with a roasty espresso/dark chocolate finish that lingers. Dave Marlin would call this oil for your body. back (2199) - Holstebro, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2013
