Nip sized bottle. Poured a yellow color with no head. Yep, black jelly beans. Tons of licorice - I don’t really care for licorice, buy if you like it, this would definitely be for you.

Clear pale yellow colour. Aroma of herbs, anis seeds, caraway seeds. Flavour of jelly beans, honey, anis seeds, liquorice. Finish honey and jelly beans. My first metheglin. Interesting and nice, but for me it never got further than that.
(From 18cl bottle @ the pre-RBBWG get-together at Tim’s place. Thanks for sharing, Seba!!)

18 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Sebletitje. Woohoo! Kuhnhenn mead. Clear pale golden. Smells of anis, menthol mint, touch chemicals, jelly beans, citrus, honey. Taste of jelly beans, anis, light menthol & spear mint, sugar, jelly bean finish, quite sugary & sweet, honey. Mildly sticky. Unique, interesting, neat stuff, would have loved it even more if I was a bigger fan of black jelly beans.

Bottle at RBWG14 Smells like a bit medicinal honey, bit perfumed , some dust .. Taste is sweet , spiced , light amount of ... peppers ? honey in a very good , balanced way , Thick mouthfeel , very nice aftertaste ( sweet, thick , pure ) Very nice !

6oz green glass bottle pours water clear with just a slight gold hue to it and leaving behind thin legs around the glass. The aroma I straight up sweet honey as well as some earthy notes, a paper quality and booze at the end of the draw. The taste is similar with smooth sweet honey that is cut by drying alcohol and a modest degree of spicy black licorice into the finish. Overall it seems kind of thin and maybe a bit short on residual sweetness as well as the treatment flavor at this point is really mild, which might just be the age of the bottle doing this.

Bottle split with Ibrew2or3, thanks Dave.

This bottled brew from rbsg #32 poured a small sized head of frothy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent yellow white colored body. The aroma was sweet and like some kind of jelly bean. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish dry aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mildly vinous sweet jelly bean and honey. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2012 Bottle from jimmy split 3 ways. Pours a very clearish gold pour with no head or lace. Aromas of licorice, settled lemon lime soda, wood, lime, dr pepper, teaberry, and mint. Taste is listerine mouthwash, mint, lime, liquid black licorice jelly beans. Nice, refreshing and boozey at the same time. The overall smell and taste remind me of teaberry. Could go for a stick of teaberry gum or the ice cream version from springers. Aftertaste is a little spicy and floral with some residual honey.

Bottle shared with vin. Poirs a golden body with no head or lacing. Aroma is rubber, vanilla, plastic, and a light licorice. Mouthfeel is medium to thick with notes of butter, vanilla, honey, licorice, bubble gum and light rubber. Awesome.
