12 oz bottle. Cloudy gold with a fluffy head and small chunks of what I can only assume is blueberry. Aroma and taste is light on the blueberries (which is good) and mellow, sweet hops. Flavor has some toasty grains to balance it all out. Just the right amount of blueberry in this to make it a quaffable libation. tgncc (3132) - Bellmore, New York, USA - JUL 26, 2013
The aroma is blueberries, malts, cereal grains. The appearance is deep purple, small off-white head. The flavor is blueerries, not overly sweet, earthy, griany sort of flavor. The finish is blueberries, some tannins. Medium in body. Ok. Sounded cooler than it really was. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - DEC 26, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2014 [Growler / Spring 2013 Batch] Thanks, Jeff! Murky, pours like shit-colored swamp water... bottom of the barrel? Watery mud with black/blue specs floating around... What? Aroma smells like a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, blueberry perfume, faint maple, & a finish of something spicy & herbal... almost like tobacco but not as harsh. Earthy? A little sweet cocoa in the tail end, too. Taste is heavier blueberry syrup but still carries a fruity collage, again, much like Fruity Pebbles. Dense, juicy, syrupy. Brown sugar, light cocoa, & more of that ashy, herbal tobacco leaf character. Some crush black pepper notes as well. Wow, what a unique beer. I don’t know if Blueberry Pancake is the best name, but it was a pretty damn tasty brew.GonZoBeeR (3061) - ste-catherine, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 5, 2005
[Tap @ Kuhnhenn / Spring 2014 Batch] This time around, the brew was like a thicker, blue & indigo tinted syrup with a lavender head. Aroma was definitely more blueberry oriented, rather than a collage of fruits. Blueberry syrup all day! Taste was sweet blueberries, light syrupy tones with an almost potpourri like spice element hitting hard on the back-end. All in all, almost a completely different brew from last year’s batch, but still very tasty. I like them both!

Tap at Barcade: Hazy deep purple pour. Huge blueberry aroma. Sweet and one dimensional. Tannin heavy body with a huge blueberry skin flavor, with both sweetness and bitterness. Has a husky note as well. Long tannins coat the palate. Notes of papery oxidation and muted inky fig. Too many tannins; borderline astringent.

Intense blueberries aroma. Taste resembles IHOP syrup. Very sweet bordering on saccharine. Uh. Well then, that sure was a beer. mikem409 (2026) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - AUG 1, 2012

On tap. Pure blueberry aroma. Appearance is orange yellow in color. Head fades quickly and is white in color. Taste is very much like a blueberry topped pancake. Slightly thin. Tart. Very pleasant.

Growler. Looks to have seeped just a bit but there was still a fair amount of carbonation. Pours a deep purple to brown with very thin white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is uber sweet candy blueberry, slight maple syrup and malt. Taste is upfront blueberry soda followed by syrup and caramel sweetness. The beer ends up being too sweet and not carbed enough to really enjoy. I’m sure some of this had to do with the carb level but the taste just wasn’t there and I got very little bready pancake. jtw (1163) - farmington, Michigan, USA - OCT 16, 2004
cloudy light bronze color. aroma is...surprise! blueberry with some lactic sourness. flavor is a lambic-like tartness, fresh blueberries (perhaps barely unripe blueberries due to the sourness). spritzy like champagne, very dry finish. what’s flemish for "blueberry"? i would almost classify this as a fruit lambic. awesome beer.
