Bottle share, thanks Toby. Pours out a reddish purple color with no real head. Aroma is grape and blueberry; it’s very fruity and sweet. Thick body with a sweet taste, lots of fruit and a mild barrel note. Lightly vinous. BuckeyeBoy (7669) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 9, 2016

How: Bottle shared with a friend while freezing in Vermont.
The look: Purple body with almost no head.
In long: The powerful nose is like a cranked up grandma multi-fruits jam. As expected the body is very thick but somehow not too sticky-syrupy. Taste is monstrosity fruity, the honey is almost lost under this mountain of fruits. I didn’t really pick specific fruits (blueberry or grapes) and also I didn’t get a strong vinous character, it was just very fruit with no specific fruit character. A bit easier to drink than I thought it would be but it is still obviously a sipper. It was less harsh and easier to drink than I expected but it may be because I had a lot to drink before I got to this one, and I may not have actual proof to back up the following statement but I’m convinced that the first person to utter the word “inebriated” was totally drunk.
Bottle from umich03jm. Pours a slightly murky reddish maroon color, with a light but sweet blueberry, candy-like aroma, which oddly reminds me of grape candy I had as a kid. The bottle was only partially filled, and now I know why; this thing carbonates huge, probably due to lingering sugar from the fruit. Pours with a massive head that goes away quickly, and is fairly aggressively carbonated in the glass. Flavor is in line with the aroma; like sweet blueberry or grape candy, but far from syrupy. Mouthfeel is actually somewhat thin, and the alcohol is almost front and center in this. Slight tartness on the back of the tongue, which hangs in there into the finish, which lasts nicely along with the other flavors. Interesting and enjoyable, though not a favorite mead at this point. Thank you JM for sending this. JStax (6482) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2013
375 ml bottle. Pours a lighter purple. Aroma is candy blueberry and sweet tarts. Really fruity sweet with a touch of tartness coming through. Nice! drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Bottle. Pours bright red with no head. Aroma honey, red fruit, slight pepper. Flavors have honey and red wine, subtle blueberry finish, clean alcohol, sweet honey finish. Good stuff. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2013
6oz bottle thanks to a trade from awhile back...pours a reddish grapey hue, mostly still, with a little ring of foam? Residual from the last pour... Aroma of moderate touch of honey and citrus with a touch of darker berry nature. Not bad but expected more berry substance... Flavors are more of the same with earthy honey tones upfront with accompanying blueberry backing. Semi-sweet, not overly so. In e, simple, and clean. Not bad. _angst_ (4802) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle received in trade. Thank you lionsandbeer! Pours hazy blueish red with a fizzy pinkish white head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is fruity with fresh citrus fruits, mashed blueberries, hay, cereal, honey, overripe grapes, dew, lilacs and other wildflowers. Taste is slightly sweet and fruity with crackers, fresh citrus fruits, blueberries, concentrated grape juice, hay, honey, dry wood, alcohol, lilacs, dandelions, red wine and hints of vanilla and cereal. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, tiny astringent, tiny fruity tart, tiny boozy , sparkling and medium bodied. Finish is fruity with fresh citrus, blueberries, green grapes, dark grapes, hay, lemon grass, lilacs, soil and dry wood.
