UPDATED: MAY 13, 2008 Sampled at Kuhnhenn. We told them we were from NJ and they pulled this out for us. Bourbon flavor was present but not overpowering and balanced out very well with the base brew. Have to get this one again. Rerate: didn’t enjoy this beer anywhere near as much. deyholla (11606) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2009
On tap at the brewpub during ’09 Winter Solstice. ’09 version. Poured a burnt sienna with a tint of yellow and no head. A huge aroma that was full of sweet grain notes and a strong note of bourbon. Flavor starts quite sweet with grainy and caramel notes, but bourbon and booze take over in the finish. Nice and thick on the tongue. nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 9, 2010
12oz bottle pours a watery, opaque brown with zero head. Aroma is apples, brandy, wood pulp. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, slightly pulpy. Finish is a little hot and boozy. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2010
Sampled at GTMW 2010, poured by a dude in a spaceman suit and a jetpack keg on his back. Pours deep amber with next to no head. Sweet butterscotch and toffee on the nose. Sweet as hell and just a bit of burn. Taste is sweet and caramelly, with butterscotch, dark chocolate, and a decent amount of sharp heat. They were billing this as rocket fuel, and to be honest it had a bit of that component. I guess it’s 14.5%, but it still had a fair amount of sharpness. Syrupy and smooth, just as you’d expect. Had high hopes for this, but left feeling a little underwhelmed. Plovmand (8316) - Helsinge, DENMARK - AUG 25, 2010
Bottle at Papsø blindtasting # 37. Deep amber body with a creamy off white head. The aroma is cheesy, acidic and sweet fruity with notes of barley. The flavour is sweet malty boozy with notes of cheese, dark fruit and peachy hops. Quite alcoholic finish.

12 oz bottle, 2009. Cloudy brown with no head. Nose is bourbon, spoiled fruit, caramel and moldy wood. Medium to full body with a tang and a burn. Taste is caramel, buttered bourbon, road apples and bitter grass. Finishes with more bourbon and toasted coconut. polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Draft. Notes of bourbon, caramel, dark dried fruits, vanilla, wood and salt. Deep reddish brown hue with an off-white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor is heavy sweet and heavy salty. Full bodied and oily soft. Overall a dissappointment. Too much bourbon and the saltiness was gross. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2011
2010. dark amberish brown pour with no head. aroma of bourbon, toffee, resinous hops, and alcohol. flavor of big bourbon, caramel, alcohol...so much oak comes across in the flavor..sharp and prickly to the tongue Ungstrup (37674) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2011
