Tmoney99 (14599) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2011
Draft sample at MBGWF 2011. Poured cloudy brown color with an average frothy light brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy aroma of complex sweet bourbon. Medium to full body with smooth texture and flat carbonation . Heavy complex sweet bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet bourbon finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were met with a complex standout brew.

(12oz bottle, 2005 vintage, thanks kmweaver) Minimal beige head atop cloudy dark-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, vanilla/Bourbon, toffee, caramel, tobacco. Taste is sweet, caramel, vanilla/Bourbon, some alcohol burn. Medium-full body, low carbonation.

Lubiere (13941) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 24, 2011
A dark brown ale with almost no head. In aroma, plum, molasses, wood extract, soy sauce, woody and fragrant. In mouth, a viscous maple insanity, with licorice, warming alcohol, dark mashed fruits, extreme but good, but also difficult. Bottle at Mondial 2011, June 9, 2011.

Drake (13934) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Two bottles, 2010 and 2011 vintages, tried side by side. From two generous traders, but sadly I cannot remember who sent them my way. :( Thanks to whomever you are.

2010 vintage. Pours a turgid brown color with a thin creamy tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of huge toffee, notes, caramel, wood, very mild whiskey and dark fruits. The taste is cherries, stone fruits, toffee, caramel, burnt sugar, toasted wood, mild whiskey, mild hops. Full bodied, slightly chewy, low carbonation, quite boozy. Nice. 7/3/8/3/15/3.6

2011 vintage pours a turgid brown color with a very thin tan collar of head. Aroma of raisin, toffee, wood, whiskey, umami. The taste is toffee, wood, salty notes, currants, bourbon and a bit of chocolate. Full bodied, very hot, low carbonation, somewhat chewy. 6/3/6/3/13

The 2010 version is much better balanced, smoother, less harsh.

Aroma is caramel, cookie, and toast malt with dates and figs, light alcohol, candied fruits and bourbon. Flavor is malt dominant with oak and bourbon, vanilla, toffee, figs and dates, light alcohol, and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

bierkoning (13387) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 29, 2011
Bottle from Jrallen74, thanks!! Deep dark brown color. Dried fruit, raisin, hints of oak and plums in the aroma. Malty, very sweet flavor. Warming alcohol. Poro. Bourbon barrels. Dried red fruit. Plums and licorice. Full bodied, thick and sticky on the tongue. Oak and subdued hops compensate the sugary sweetness.

4.3
Dogbrick (13126) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2011
Sample at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale/ Stout and Big Beer Fest on 02/05/2011, thanks to Normyk apparently. Pours a dark mahogany brown color with a wispy light beige head that disappears quickly. Sparse lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate and roasted nuts. Rich body with flavors of raisins, bourbon, sweet caramel and vanilla. The finish is biscuity malt, caramel and sweet ripe fruit. Very good beer all around.
