3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Rayl101. Pours a clear dark gold. Aroma is chocolate and pumpkin spice. Taste is sweet with more chocolate and pumkin pie flavors. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Alcohol warmth. Pretty good stuff.
"While still very enjoyable (and shocking in it’s smoothness and lacking of heat at 16%) the chocolate in this brew covered up some of the flavor and aroma that I really liked in the "regular" pumpkin version. More tootsie roll than anything else, though the light spicing and honey show themselves as well." burg326 (5489) - Florida, USA - AUG 14, 2014
Poured a darker orangish color with aromas of chocolate, wafers, vanilla, pumpkin, nutmeg and light spice. Flavors are the same as the aromas, nice pumpkin, chocolate mix with some soft vanilla, not overly sweet from the honey, very tasty and the abv is again hidden very well. This is dangerously delicious. PhillyCraft (7400) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2014
UPDATED: APR 12, 2014 Bottle huge thanks to Steve for sending me this. Shared with Bill, pours clearish orange, with no head. Aromas are chocolate coke, amaretto, pumpkin pie, chocolate neco wafers and coconut cream. Flavor is vanilla, milk chocolate, birch beer, honey, and nutmeg spice. This mead is wild and has me missing the kuhn days of old. cubs (10639) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2013

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, dark reddish pour with thin to no head, aroma is amazingly full of milk chocolate, cocoa powder, lots of sweet chocolate notes into caramel, hints of slight vanilla, the pumpkin is completely covered up. Taste is big milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, big caramel, toffee, slight pumpkin but it is hidden, finishing sweet, slight earth, lots of cocoa powder. Tasty. crossovert (13080) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 27, 2013
Extremely sweet but a really interesting combo of flavors especially for a mead. alexsdad06 (10486) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2013
12 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99. Pours a dark golden color with a few randombubbles. The aroma and flavor have sweet honey, sweet milk chocolate, fleshy pumpkin with mild warming alcohol. Even though I expected the sweetness, most meads don’t have enough body for me to truly enjoy them. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2013
12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. 2011 winter solstice bottle. Clear orange color. Just a few white bubbles of head. Big aroma. Distinct pumpkin and sweet chocolate. Very sweet taste. Medium to bigger body. No viscosity, no sticky syrupiness. Just kind of a watery texture. Alcohol is not very noticeable, well blended with the mead. With small sips, no burn or bite at all. Barely a warmth, even. What’s holding me back is the intense sweetness. I like my chocolate dark and bitter. There’s a definite milk chocolate aroma to this, but it’s just very sweet for me. Like hot chocolate mix gone cold. Pumpkin also noticeable, but the sweet chocolate is distracting - I’d like to try the standard version of this, without the chocolate component - that seems more up my alley. Very interesting mead, though. Glad I got the chance to try it. A challenge to drink, though
