Tasting at Matt’sSparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUL 31, 2014
Cloudy orange-blond color. Strong smell of cinnamon apple bun, vanilla. Sweet, strong cinnamon flavor, and burning chili hotness (too much actually).
Nothing here says that it’s mead, it’s just a burning cocktail.
Sampled at 2011 RBWG. Pours clear yellow with no head. The nose red hots and Big Red gum. The taste is pretty much the same. Lots of spicy cinnamon. Medium still body. 3.8 mcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 10, 2014
Nip bottle, sent from deyholla (thanks a lot, Derek), pours a hazy golden orange with a tiny head. Nose brings out shitloads of cinnamon, honey, and more cinnamon. Flavour brings out shitloads of cinnamon, lots of alcohol burn, and more cinnamon. Definitely a cinnamon bomb, with a big alcohol burn. Solid stuff, though quite abrasive and uncompromising in the alcohol department -- almost representative of a chili mead. alexsdad06 (10409) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2014
Small nip bottle shared by?? Pours a clear yellow color with no head. The aroma and flavor have big cinnamon notes, honey, vanilla, some alcohol and the addition of a little heat gives a red hots sensation to the whole thing. DeputyAndy (636) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle courtesy of Frank, shared with Vinny, Bill, Alan, and James. Pours a viscous gold with no head. Smell is strong cinnamon, apples, and booze. Taste is not nearly as hot as you think it would be, not Big Redy at all. Very easy to drink. Brings flavors of cinnamon, apples, without any hotness from booze. Very cool. Bottle #2/96 shared with Bill, Frank, JAmes, and Dallas. Poured a light golden color with no head/lacing. Aromas of earthy honey, cinnamon candy, and flowers. Taste was floral honey, soil, cinnamon apples, and pie crust. Ultra warming in upper chest from the delicious cinnamon. Nice mead from the Kuhnhenn Cinnamonster series. j12601 (11831) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Bottle at a tasting at James’ place courtesy of James and his giant cellar. Pours a clear gold. Cinnamon and gingerbread cookies. Medium bodied, sweet, touches of cinnamon, spicy, long on the gums. Lingering spicy notes, and a soft sweetness. Nice and spicy, but alas, run, run, fast as you can, can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 30, 2012
