Bottle. Pours a dark amber with small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is wood, vanilla, booze. Thin mouth, vanilla, candy sugar, caramel, boozy finish, very good. onceblind (10587) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 11, 2016
Deep chestnut brown with a thin fast fading tan head. Amazing deep aroma with chocolate and light roast and malt syrup and Christmas warmth. Amazing smooth and roasty sweet chocolaty flavor, a wee kiss of coffee, more sweet earthy malt syrup, Christmas English ale flavors, and finishing with a bit more cocoa. Really amazing. Poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was of toffee, caramel, dark fruits and booze. Flavor similar, some brown sugar in there too, fairly complex, booze is hidden well. I would love to see this put in a barrel. chucklemation (1763) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - JAN 16, 2016
Pours q dark brown, no head. Aroma is dark fruits, plum, vanilla, caramel, and toffee. Flavor is dark fruits, plum, caramel, and toffee. Has a thick, flat body. This is not at all what I expected from this beer, but I like it.

Bottle, 2011 version. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Malty nose with lots of toffee. Flavour has toffee, cocoa, dark dried fruit, light vanilla, Full body, soft carbonation. Not as sweet as I expected, it has some acidity that helps lift the sugar along with the alcohol, which is warming and not rough. Fine malty beverage but not enough to justify the price tag.
