Brewed by Erik Harms of Dragon Mead and Bret Kuhnhenn. This is a special Lager made in December. Strong malty in flavor. This beer reawakens after 5 years.

bhensonb (15861) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle from Half Time. Pours dark ruddy amber/brown with no head. Aroma is very brown sugar/ roasted heavy malt. there’s a light medicinal aspect. Full bodied, almost. Sam Adams TB minus the maple, perhaps. A little cola and brown sugar for flavor. Not quit dryish. Difficult to describe. Very, very nice.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is wood, vanilla, booze. Thin mouth, vanilla, candy sugar, caramel, boozy finish, very good.

Draught at CBC 2014. Dark brown colour with an off-white ehad. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, vineous, alcohol, bread and roasted notes.

Bottle 2011 vintage poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of molasses, prune, raisin and carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of molasses, prune, raisin and carmel with a smooth lingering molasses finish.

[5/3/14] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 4th session. Amber. Alcoholic aroma, candy-ish, with malt, caramel, marzipan and some fruits. Sickly sweet flavor, alcoholic, malty, caramelly and candy-ish. Really not my thing.

Bottle in Hotel Room, Brooklyn. Clear dark brown - small offwhite head. Dried fruits, raisins, fruity, bready notes, light roasted notes, licorice, alcoholic, light hoppy, high malty, soft body. Nice.

Draft at 2007 Michigan BGWF. Poured dark reddish brown with a moderate light brown head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good caramel toasted tart fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Good well balanced tart fruit malty flavor with a moderate smooth balanced finish of moderate duration. Good doppelbock.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with treacle, plums, interesting. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, very very smooth. On tap at Beer Authority.

12 oz. bottle courtesy goyrshkewych. Gracias! Also, rating #700. Viscous reddish brown pour with no head. Very faint carbonation. Earthy and malty aroma with some caramel notes. Sweet caramel taste, slightly tart, with dark fruit notes. Not very complex, but still very pleasant.
