3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. A dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolate, bread, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.
From notes. On draft at an “unofficial” company outing to the Clinton Township Taproom on August 08. This one pours a light clear brown with a thin ring of light tan head and a couple spots of soapy lace as it vanishes. The aroma is what you’d expect. There is a light nuttiness to it with a hint of chocolate and a strong addition of metallic malt on the finish. It’s definitely sweet, without a whole lot of ingredient influence. The flavor is much of the same. The chocolate and roast are present with a light nuttiness, but everything just falls off so quickly. The mouth feel is light and watery with a softer carbonation and a lingering sweetness to it as it falls off of the tongue quickly. Not bad, but this needs a little more. 6 3 6 3 12 BigBeer45 (1564) - Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2017
Draft at Kuhnhenn,
this ale was a dark brown in the shaker, this beer gave a nice presentation with a thick layer of light tan bubbles and lots of lacing,
it had a nose of toasted malt, faint caramel, hint of chocolate and brown sugar sweetness,
the flavors were toasted malt with a hint of roasted malt, nutty, some caramel, faint coffee, chocolate in the background, light brown sugar and malt sweetness,
the mouth feel was less than medium to medium, it was a bit creamy and had soft to average carbonation,
this was a nice drinking beer. JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2016

On tap @ Henrik. This is a deep and dark brown looking one. It also has a nice super lacing dense and creamy beige top. It’s both candy sweet and chocolaty on the nose this. Hoppy, yeah, and it has a fruity red-fruit sweetness also. Smells nice if not extreme. Tastes nice also. Immediately it feels a bit astringent on the mouthfeel. Light oily on the texture and it has a near creamy growing carbonation level. Soft nutty chocolaty bitterness in the taste with traces of coffee and wood. A little dry cocoa powder also present here before it ends in a a acidic near wood sour finish and aftertaste. Solid stuff. 13.02.2014 nimbleprop (8750) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAY 13, 2014

The beer is a sienna shade of brown with a soapy head. The aroma brings malt, sourdough bread, biscuits. Similar flavor, with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking with moderately low carbonation. Pretty good. RussianDragon (877) - - MAY 9, 2014
