Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor pro-file. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice con-tributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

Excited to try this. Arrived today in a box from Umich03jm. Thanks, Jason! Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma is grapefruit and pine. Taste is dry with pine and grapefruit. This has a nice balance and is very drinkable for a 9% IPA.

32 oz. Growler shared by Willrunforbeer, dude, pimping. Lightly hazy gold color with thin bubbles of head in the chalice. Aroma is tropical fruit, mild pine and yeast.

Flavor has juicy grapefruit, pine though the center, mild notes of alcohol in the finish but not distracting. I can’t pickup the rice but the fruit and pine are pretty nice. Balance of malt and hop profile really gives this a pretty high drinkability. And to the Brewers credit, it doesn’t come off to sweet which is easy to do with a huge grain bill. Very nicely worked!

From tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Clear golden orange color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, caramel, citrusy fruity, pine, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Very piny and herbal. Thick and slightly sweet with a little extra I just can’t place. Ok overall, but not a standout in style.

Runder, intensiv hopfiger Antrunk, schwer. Intensiv hopfig bleibend, sehr getreidig, süffig. Gut. 11/10/10/9//9

Aroma is sweet and piny, dank, tropical fruit. Appearance is golden amber, white head. Taste is wonderful tropical fruit, bitter pine, somewhat light. Mouthfeel is thin, carbonation is off but good. Overall, I like.

Pours bright yellow thick and beautiful with a sunset hue. Aroma brings that amazing skunky armpit hop that I love, not overbearing! Flavor is similar with sharp skunky armpit hops that I love on a quenching balanced carbonated body. Delicious!

Ataraxia (533) - California, USA - JUL 3, 2015
Clear bright golden color, minimal white lacing. Aroma is mostly malt of an unfamiliar origin, then pine and herbs. Very bitter with a strong grain finish. Oily, mildly carbed, and astringent. Finish is long and unpleasantly bitter.

Brought in by a coworker to bottle share Friday. Not bad but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Pours a hazy golden color with small off-white head. Aroma is full of grass, green tea, resinous and citurs hops. Taste is bitter at first followed by some sweetness with the alchohol noticeable only in the finish. There’s a lot going on here, and the rice makes this different from the crowd of IIPAs. A little dank, but not too dank. Body is medium with moderate cabonation and a fluffy (not oily) dry mouthfeel. A very pleasant surprise on my first trip to Detroit, when finding something by Kuhnhenn on tap was a must. Would gladly try again.
