Bottle purchased from the brewery. I believe this was the 2006 batch for St. Paddy’s Day. Black with attractive white head. Roasty, very drinkable malty. Dry and malting was so good hopscotch (11048) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2005
Draft... Clear, dark brown ale with a quick, creamy, well-tanned head. Toasty malt & caramel aroma and flavor. Coffee and chocolate. Light-bodied and thin with pillow-soft carbonation. Short, burnt, dry finish. j12601 (10925) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - SEP 5, 2009
On tap at the Blind Tiger at their Kuhnhenn event. Pours a clean black with a thick tan head. Caramel, roast, malt. Thin, roast. Somewhat empty. Finishes up with a lot of bitterness. Seems a bit one dimensional.

2011-11-13. Ruby tinged black body with a small tan head. 3+ Dry roasty flavour grows more roast with consecutive sips, modest roasty bitterness. Dry roasty aroma. Average to thin bodied palate is insufficient for my preferences. Decent stout, but its a bit thin, and one dimensional for my own tastes. On tap at Kuhnhenn, Warren

Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep black beer with a thin tan head. Great nose with lots of bitter roasted barley. There is a little bit of light coffee as well. Nice crisp dry roasty finish, although the beer does have a little bit of heft through the middle. Soft charry finish. Quite tasty really.

[4116-20111113] Tap. Sweet nutty roast malt aroma. Red-tinged black body with a quick foamy light tan head. Roasted nuttiness continues in the flavour. Medium-full body. Odd soured nut notes, nice to sample though. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2-

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma with some lighter notes of fresh ground coffee. The flavor brings roasted malts, a hint of sweeter malts, coffee, and a solid amount of roasted bitterness in the finish. Tasty. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 10, 2009

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2004 2003 nitro tap. Wonderful pour with tons of tan and caramel colors swirling around. As it settles, it takes on a dark brown and a huge tan-roasty head, much better than guiness' mostly white head. Aroma has tons of bitter coffee in it and quite bold. Begins with a medium body and moderately roasty. This quickly escalates in to a huge espresso flavor with lots of oily, bitter roast flavors lingering. Very dry, but as it warmed, it became a bit too watery for my liking with the roasted barley being a bit too dominating. Needs some other flavors in the mix. Draft. Black body with a an off white head. This is incredibly session able i had 3 of em. Just a very nice hint of irish whiskey atop fresh coffee. A thin sweet malt body is just what i needed for this slick treat. Great!
