The Duvil in Miss Jones is a Sour Belgian Golden Ale. Brewed as an homage to the world-class Duvel, but with a twist, as in a lemony acidity that provides just enough tartness without being overbearing. The tart notes also help mask the alcohol, at 8.5% ABV.

We cellared this brew for 2 years after bottling, releasing it at the Winter Solstice Celebration this past December 2014.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2014 [Bottle, 2011 / 2 years old] Moderately hazy, golden-amber body with a quickly fading white head. Aroma is mild with notes of lightly tart wheat, lemon, light orange zest, grass, yeast, bread, & musty spice. Taste is actually a little sour with some wheat, lemon, Belgian yeast & spices, & a little bit of white pepper. It’s like a lightly soured version of Duvel. Sour, dry wheat & yeast finish with a touch of must. I assume some of the sourness wasn’t as present fresh, but it’s actually quite nice.

12 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 late 2011. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, orange citrus, big sweet malts, yeast and some additional fruit. Not my favorite from these guys.

Sample from a 12oz bottle, 2011 vintage. Clear golden orange color. THin off-white head. Couple bits of lace. Smooth, lighter, kind of soft carbonation. More dry finish. Bigger body. Nice tropical fruity aroma. Some pear, light spice. Some pineapple juice. Moderate bitter taste, nice light alcohol heat in the finish. Nice strong belgian pale. Good fruity warming flavor.

12 ounce bottle shared. Pours a pale yellow with no head. The aroma is sweet and a little grainy. Tastes majorly sweet.

12oz bottle. Rating #22. This beer was kind of all over the place, it was pretty decent, just kind of an interesting beer. (2799)

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Vinny. Care of the Vinster. Pours turbid orange with a thin, wispy-laced white head. Aroma of strawberry, raspberry, blackberries, currants, blueberries, and some honey, funk, and varnish. Taste is some raspberry jam, with a bunch of strawberry and tart, oceany savory notes. Little sour in the finish. Fuck yeah. Great beer all around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle with pat, pours a hazy brownish tinted copper. Medium white head, light clearish sporadic lacing. Aromas and taste are filled with tart fruits, wine, skinned fruit, wood, lactic acids, light metallics but not in a bad way. Full bodied and pleasant on the palate with a very nice nutty aftertaste. Taste is very Belgiany with delicious grains, yeast and sour dark fruits. This one is seriously underrated IMHO. Crisp apple tart finish. Ocean salts and other earthy sea tones. Caught us by surprise.

Bottle… Murky golden ale with a quickly dissipating, white head. The bouquet is spicy and herbal with peppery hops. Medium to full-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is a blend of tart and caramely sweet. Finishes tangy and a tad spicy. Age has been kind to this bottle. Thanks go out to darkguardian for sharing!

Bottle from Rayl101! Pours a clear amber color with and eggshell head. Aroma has grape/wine/vinous notes and some brown sugar as well. Taste is sweet with more wine notes, sweet malt, light bitterness. There is also a bit of tart here. Interesting
