187ml bottle. Pours still, deep purple. Aroma is Berry, waxy honey, and earth. Medium body that tastes Berry forward, with mild spice notes and a slightly vinous quality. Very good melomel. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 17, 2015

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy berries/elderberry with some very strange cheesy and footy notes. It’s a transparent dark red with a few stray bubbles for a head. The flavor starts with moderate berries/elderberry. The finish has moderate honey, mild apple, and some faint white wine notes. It’s medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, the flavor is pretty good, but the aroma is very bizarre and really hurts my score.
Bottle @ Kuhnhenn: Deep crimson-red with a trace or bubbles around the edges. Aroma of mildly sweet berry, but there’s a strong funky vibe to it. Somewhere in the land of dirty feet, sweaty jock strap, & Gorgonzola. Really weird & funky. Vineyardy, too. Flavor is void of the funk, luckily. Notes of blueberry, elderberry, toasted honeycomb, perfume, & a light touch of red apple. Tastes nice but the weird funk in the aroma is throwing me for a loop. hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2014
375ml bottle. Last of the 48 meads we went through - what a learning experience that was! Purplish tinted pour with no head. Berries and some earhtiness. Dfonorow (2250) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Pour is purple/red and leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is of blackberries, blueberries, grape jam, booze, and a slight hint of sweet honey. Flavor is incredibly sweet and filled with berries and booze - like a berry cobbler mixed with honey and alcohol. Enjoyable in a small quantity, like the 6 ounce bottle it came in, but any more and it starts to taste like children’s medicine.

[4935-20121114] Small clear bottle. Just smelling it puts me off -- there are boozy wild flowers going on everywhere, a little like expired perfume. Slightly hazy, dark brown red body with no head. Floral super sweetened honey wine ensues in the flavour. Medium body is boozy. Overall, just not for me. (4/2/3/3/9) 2.1

Bottle from BenC...thanks Ben! - Pours like grape juice with no head. Christmas berries, funky and lightly tart. Very odd. Taste is a ton of berries, tart like cranberries, with a huge berry finish. Medium bodied in the mouth with no carbonation. Really weird and not my cup of tea. notalush (5909) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Colorado mead tasting 2012 - dark reddish purple - looks like wine - the aroma is actually kind of funky - earthy fruit skin qualities, along with a sweet, berry juice quality - flavor tastes a lot like cranberry to me - equal parts sweet and lightly acidic - not much mead character left, but the fruit is juicy, earthy - finish is moderately acidic, cutting the sweetness - a touch of spice in the finish as well - a bit too much like juice in some places, but I actually like it quite a bit. Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12, courtesy of Matt. Thanks Man! Pour is bright pinkish-purple with no head. Bright fruits, grape, tannin, floral honey, earthy notes, and blackberry in the aroma. Taste is red wine, wood, slightly sweet, prune juice, blackberries, fruit pit, and spice with a semi-dry finish. Medium mouthfeel with no carbonation. Nice! cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
2012 Colorado Mead Tasting at Armin’s house. Thanks to Matt! Pours a purple kool-aid appearance with no head. Jammy, grape/berry, prickly seedy aroma. Thick, sugary, blackberry, mild vanilla, apple honey flavor. Kind of interesting but also fairly cloying.
