355ml bottle enjoyed @ home, thanks to BenH! Pours murky brown with little to no head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, earthy, dark dried fruits and brown sugar. Taste is heavy sweetness and light+ bitterness. Full bodied, creamy-ish texture, very soft texture. Finish is sweet, almost cloyingly and vinous. ljthiessen (1397) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 28, 2016
Bottle. Deep reddish-brown pour, murky, with a small head. Aroma is quite sweet, caramel and raisin, some berry notes, slightly bready. Taste is sweet up front, lots of berry notes and raisin, really flavourful and fruity. Finishes with a slight bitterness to balance and manages to not be too cloying despite a thick, oily texture and a lot of sweetness. Some coffee in the aftertaste. Amazing for the style, complex and really delicious brew. Ratman197 (15212) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 8, 2016
Bottle 2009 vintage poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of toffee, molasses and dried fruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, molasses, dried fruit and light earthiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish. djd07 (15341) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 17, 2015
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is caramel, roast, vanilla. Thick mouth, strong dark fruit, toffee, vanilla, light roast, nice booze finish, really enjoyed this. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - SEP 21, 2015
Bottle from a trade. Poured into a snifter at home. Almost no head and no lacing. The aroma is BIG caramel, toffee, brown sugar, cookie dough, sugar plums, prunes, raisins. Taste is big cookie sweetness dark overripe fruits, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, and dark candies. Mild barrel aging and barrel flavors. Thick and chewy. Is it supposed to have ZERO carb? Some old ales have some. This one is flat as a pancake. Overall flavors are delicious.

[7255-20150529] 500mL bottle. Minty soya sauce and sweet malty leaf aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet roasted soya minty sauce flavour with a long toasted bread dipped in syrup aftertaste. Medium-full body is quite boozy. Tasty. (8/3/8/4/17) 4.0

Had this many times over the years, might as well rate it seeing as u had a really fantastic bottle last night at Scott’s .. . Deep caramel, burnt toffee, mild booze, and sherry eyes .. . Rich and boozy, but soft like the last morsel .. Legit beer .. . . When my boss gets mad, he throws things. Last week he destroyed a phone and a calculator.. This bottle is a nicely aged 2012 so the ABV may actually be a bit more.
Nice dark plumb pour with pretty much no head. Bozzy rich scent. Plumb and prune, other fruits, caramel and more. A bit sticky. Lots of roasted stuff going on in the mouth. Raisin. Sweets, lots of caramel, lots. Maybe even butterscotch. Sweet. Reminds me of a Barley Wine. Very well balanced. A flavour journey. Really nice.
