Dry and slight spiced finish with a smooth chocolate note. Mild spiced and chocolate malty. Nice one. Ungstrup (38384) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2005
A deep red-brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is malty with strong notes of chocolate and alcohol, combined with lesser roated notes - nice. The flavor is lovely alcoholic - burning the mouth, but also notes of oranges and wood with a thick mouthfeel - leaning towards a portwine. Lovely. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 21, 2007

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is wood, cellar, some grass and some mild fruityness. Flavour is the same in a good balance, but also shows some signs of alcohol and caramel. Still a wellbalanced and pleasant brew. Travlr (26075) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 6, 2010
2004 bottle. Red, no head, no lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, butterscotch, alcohol. Taste starts sweet, gets progressively bitter. Simple. Not bad. cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 7, 2010

Huge amount of vanilla ... sweet toffee ... piney hop ... juicy pine ... but something just a bit too much... think its unbalanced vanilla... i looked carefully as i thought this might have been whisky barreled but it doesnt appear to be... omhper (25740) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 25, 2008
Bottled, thanks jjpm74! Cloudy mahogany colour, creamy head. Thick and malty with massive amounts of caramel. Sweet and full sized, very soft and cottony. Mild, yet very flavourful - caramel and smoke is prominent. Soothing and warming. Great winter beer! madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2012

Cloudy dark brown beer with a red tinge. Thick tan head. Rich aged malt nose. Softish palate but with a decent carbonated bite. Sweet rich barleywine like malts. Soft and sumptuos with toffee and dark fruits. Finishes soft with sweet and sour malt which lasts well in to the aftertaste. Delicious!
