Draft at Kuhnhenn from backlog notes. Pours a slightly hazy amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted grainy malts, a decent herbal character, mild floral notes, some herbal bitterness, nothing really pops with this unlike many other options at the time. Draft at Good Beer. Smoky, lightly sour, and malty. It is not sweet, has some herbal notes, and there is some yeast in the finish. The aroma is a little bitter. This earthy ale is not bad, but it is not Kuhnhenn’s best. jredmond (8517) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Draft with Ken and Vi at Barcade. Pours a hazy brown body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is pretty plain - some malt and grain. Mouthfeel is thin with light carbonated feel and notes of plain malts, earthy and herbal tones, and grain. Pretty tame, especially in comparison to the other Kuhnhenns hivemind (919) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 21, 2011
On tap at Barcade 09.20.2011 with Erica, Danielle, Mark, Jen, and Steve. Boring-looking light brown pour with a slightly red tint. Light, watery mouthfeel and light hops on the palate with a little earthy, grainy grittiness to it. Goes down light and finishes warm and sweet. I’d drink it again. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 7, 2011

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy amber-brown color with a medium off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Floral aroma with some malt notes. Light body with flavors of toasted malt, herbs, and fruit. The finish is fruity with a short sweet aftertaste. Interesting beer overall. Tmoney99 (14861) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 8, 2011
MBGSF 2011. Poured a hazy dark brown color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Good aroma of toasted malt and wood. Medium to full body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy herbal bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy complex bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Interesting complex brew.

Aroma: Loaded with cherries along with some pine. Very interesting.
Appearance: Copper pour with offwhite head.
Flavors: Very light, somewhat bland, slightly fruity and woody.
Palate: Mild carbonation and light bodied. Seems appropriate for the style but maybe a little too watery.
Overall: Interesting beer to try but not that good. I prefered TDD Anned’ale vyvvy (6639) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 24, 2008
GTMW 08 - Pours cloudy brown with a small tan head. The aroma is quite heathery with very well toasted malt, light butter and toffee. Medium slick body with some roughness on the finish and light carbonation. The flavor starts with dry caramel, some floralness and some earthy traits. The finish gives everything a rough feel. GTOM ’08 - Amber in color with a beige head. The nose and palate were sweet with flavors of dark caramel, chocolate, raisin and yeast. Rich and rather heavy on the palate.
