0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Vile, from the maw of hell. Exploded out of the bottle, leaving probably 2oz. Aroma is nasty fermented vegetables, peppers, and a toppled spice rack. Taste is similar, stomach churning, green pepper finish. Yuck. Weirdly enough this is the first Kuhnhenn infected bottle I’ve ever tried, but my god was it infected.
Bottle courtesy of MeadMe. Pours still Gold. Aroma Of cinnamon, spice, and honey. Tastes of Cinnamon, honey, some vegetal, and faint chocolate. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - JAN 16, 2015
Bottle: Clear golden color with a slight haze in the middle. No carbonation (still mead). Aroma is heavily cinnamon with some undertones of sweet, toasted honeycomb, acidic citrus, & a touch of floral heat that I’m going to assume is from the ancho peppers? Don’t get much chocolate. But the cinnamon is booming. Floral flavor. Somewhat herbal, with a strong essence of cinnamon stick flavored potpourri. Backed with some honey sweetness. There’s a citric acidity & almost a tartness that sweeps in towards the finish to curb the heft of the spicy cinnamon, it works quite nicely. A unique mead, & a pretty tasty one at that. Different, but good. burg326 (5607) - Florida, USA - SEP 5, 2013
Bottle shared at mead tasting, poured a light golden brown color with aromas of earth, cinnamon, and light chocolate. Flavors were light chocolate, cinnamon, some honey and light peppers. MeadMe (1683) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Pours golden. Aromas of cinnamon and peppers. Flavor more complex. The cinnamon stands out. Hints of honey and light citric notes. It ends with an earthy peppery burn
