MBGF07. Hazy amber body with a tiny beige ring of bubbles for a head. The aroma is apricot, grapefruit, catty, cotton candy and caramel. The flavor is just lightly sweet and lightly bitter with caramel, grapefruit, apricot and pineapple. Medium body is very soft with light carbonation. Fantastic session IPA. MiBGF 07: Coppery hue with no head at all but seems a bit slick and dense. The aroma has notes of caramel and bready malts, apricot and rye esters, grassy and aromatic hops. There is even a note of acidic sourness every once in a while. The taste has lush fruity character along with a spicy bitterness. There are some earthy and mineral notes as a background. The mouth feel is oily and smooth with a nice dry finish. Despite not winning any beauty contests this ended up being a really solid brew and a pleasant surprise. Draft sample at MBGF07. Poured hazy copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Heavy bitter flavor with a heavy smooth bittersweet finish of long duration. A very good beer. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JUL 30, 2007
On tap: The aroma has lots of citrus hops along with pineapple and a hint of pine. It’s a dark orange with a touch of haze and a minimal off-white head. The flavor starts rather fruity with notes of pineapple. I get some faint smoke in the background. It finishes lightly piney with some faint citrus hops. Very tastey.
