Poured from a 6.3 ounce bottle. This sweet mead looks great, the aroma is all honey. The flavor has an odd herbal/floral quality. I did not really care for the hops in this. They are out of place. No hot notes, that is what I dislike about most meads.

bottle... medium gold with a bit of peach... the nose is basically sweet hops, a bit of honey, wish a bit more was going on with the hops, but I like it... the taste is really weird, I wonder if is how fuggles really taste like, grassy honey at first, then a bit of dank, the finish is ashy smoke, quite intriguing that this would display... really worth trying but 6oz is more than a enough!!!

Bottle at James’ mead tasting. Pours a clear orange, a touch darker than the Styrian. A very light touch of tea, a bit of honey. Sweet and full of honey, very lightly herbal. Gentle touch of hops slowly turns big and bitter. Then the honey sweetness comes back. Another rather interesting mead.

Bottle thanks to FlandersNed. Pours clear amber gold. Nose/taste of honey, anise and muted hops. Soft finish. Medium body.

madvike (3250) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Bottle shared by BenC - Pours light yellow--clear and flat. Perfurmey and sweet on the nose, with honey, and a bit of spiciness. Weird flavor, tastes almost like a hard candy with a weird dusty finish. Still floral and perfumey. Odd--smells way better than it tastes.

I am not yet sold on these hop derived meads. Sweet, bitter, hoppy, malt,...weird and not really my style.

Another hoppy sweet mead...really love the spicy combination. Lots of pepper, leafy, even citrus accompanying the honey sweetness. Bright golden copper pour...if anyone lives by Kuhnhenn, I’ll trade you my left nut for a box!

this one is not as good as the horizon, it has a large hot bite in the palate thats very astringent. other wise, the aroma is pretty nice, well integrated hops and honey, but the taste and finish are unusual.
