From notes. Enjoyed this at the Kuhnhenn XV Anniversary Party on August 20. On draft. The pour is a brighter copper color with a thin ring of white head and no lace. The aroma is where this just falls apart. It’s incredibly boozy. There is a ton of sweet alcohol. The barrel just comes off as wet wood, and adds no quality to this. It smells like a bad tripel. The flavor is just as bad. There is a sweet alcohol and wet barrel stave. It’s just a mess from start to finish. The alcohol is a little lighter on the flavor. The mouth feel is thin and slick no carbonation and it just leaves a terrible taste behind. What the hell?! Vells (1967) - Rīga, LATVIA - DEC 22, 2013
Hmm.. actually this reminds me of something between Brewdogs AB:14 and de Molens Bommen & Granaten. Quite intense honey, thou its nicely balanced with notes of bourbon. Quite sweet, but not over sweetened. Some spices in palce of hops, bit fruity and some vanilla in finish. fiulijn (21461) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 19, 2012
Very nice interesting brew. Even my parents loved it - and they give beer hard time

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Pours very dark brown, nearly black with no head and almost no carbonation. Aroma is bourbon, burnt honey, figs, and toffee. Taste is super sweet...diabetes in a bottle. Lots of fig and honey and a nice smokiness/maltiness in there too. Wow, it is sweet.
