4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2014 Definitely a sipper. Heavy malt flavors. Lots of chocolate, toffee, burnt sugars, caramel and dark fruits.
8.5% abv version on draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige foam that dissipates almost instantly. Lots of coffee in the nose, tiramisu character throughout. Some cheesecake, tiramisu on the palate, coffee cake and milk chocolate. Finish has some lingering tiramisu and roasty coffee bitterness. I like this. jackl (8557) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 3, 2017
Keg @ Kuhnhenn. Deep brown with a tiny head. Very rich espresso on the nose. Burnt brownies. Plenty of vanilla coffee creamer too. Fairly sweet and sticky drinking experience. Some earthy char and coffee acidity keeps things in check. Hot, full bodied, oily. oobawa (1865) - Tennessee, USA - AUG 22, 2017
Decent massive stout, heavy on the coffee and vanilla notes but with a sunscreen undertone that kinda gives the whole pint a cloy artificial note. Roasty malts mix with chocolate and marshmallow, and the impressively bitter finish keeps the sweetness from growing overbearing, but the fade has a strange industrial-made bottled creme brûlée flavor I just can’t dig. Great texture, pretty pour, but not my favorite. weitz15 (622) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 18, 2017
Dark brown pour, thin white head. Aroma is a sweet malted creme brulee, as expected. Flavor is a Mix of creme brulee and coffee, and it is not a good mix. SG111 (2145) - New York, USA - NOV 5, 2016
Tap at the source, Warren. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is lots of sweet vanilla, caramel, creme brulee sweetness, coffee. That’s really nice. Flavor is coffee, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, creme brulee, cream. Nice. Coffee has more prominence in the flavor than nose. I like that one.
