8.5% abv version on draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige foam that dissipates almost instantly. Lots of coffee in the nose, tiramisu character throughout. Some cheesecake, tiramisu on the palate, coffee cake and milk chocolate. Finish has some lingering tiramisu and roasty coffee bitterness. I like this. 12 oz. bottle; thanks Alex!! Dark brown with thin tan head; vanilla cream, cookies and chocolate; texture is thin and pretty high on the sweetness chart; rich coffee and creamy chocolate; not as over the top and undrinkable as say the road rash stout, but this is getting up there Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Served on draft at Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Shared by someone.... thanks. Pours a dark brown color, appearing black in the glass. Not much of a head but it shows some decent lacing. Big chocolate, mocha aroma with caramel and rich coffee notes. The taste is dry, bitter coffee notes, caramel and faint fruity notes. Full bodied. alexsdad06 (10821) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 12, 2010
12 oz. bottle (3/2010). Pours almost black in color with a medium sized, lasting tan head. The aroma is by far the star of the show. Sweet vanilla, mocha, caramelized sugar, malty; it definitely lives up to the name. The flavor is coffee with vanilla added, espresso, mocha, caramelized sugar. Medium bodied and a bit thin. I liked this one fresh, but had the nose higher than the flavor. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2010
On tap at the Kuhnhenn Brew Pub. Poured a deep brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Tastes of vanilla, creme, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate. Tastes of vanilla, creme, coffee, chocolate, and roast. A nice sipper.

Reviewed from notes. Picked a bottle up at the brewpub.
Pours a very dark brown color with a thin head. The nose brings out some chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and a bit of cream. The taste and body together make it evident why this is a "creme brulee java" beer as the coffee and cream flavors mix quite well with a bit of sugar. Chocolate in the background. Good body without too much booze. This was a good-drinking beer and I wish I had gotten a bit more to age.

One of the many growlers shared by Jale. I had two pours of this stuff, pretty tasty. Aroma of coffee, with lots of sweet vanilla notes. Taste is sweet, lots of coffee flavors but not overly done, compared to a few kuhnhenn beers I’ve had. Reminds me of a tiramisu. Palate is rich and creamy, I like this stout.

Pour is black with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by espresso and mocha type notes. Flavor is sweet, though not as sweet as the nose may lead on too. amg800 (237) - Ada, Michigan, USA - DEC 22, 2011
Pitch black with caramel colored head.
Strong coffee and sweet aroma.
Bitter coffee flavor.
Bitter sweet palate strong coffee again. Not sure how the creme brule works itself in? polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Draft. Aroma has notes of bitter espresso, vanilla, custard and brown sugar. Black hue with an average light tan head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is very sweet and bittler. Palate is very full bodied and oily soft. Overall a lovely brew that’s much better than the non-Impy version.
