Tap. A deep dark brown with a tan head. Nice lacing. Malty aroma. The real pleasure in this beer is the mouthfeel. Dry and slightly bitter, aaahhh. Quenching at the same time. ceejmomeechmo (58) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2005
On tap at kuhnhenn...Poured a dark brown with a smaller tan head. Aromas were heavy on coffee and malt with a toasty caramel undertone. Flavor was very pleasing, with strong coffee and malt notes. Mouthfeel was also quite bold. Another great beer from Kuhnhenn! ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 23, 2013
A very nice dunkel. Thick and rich, very malty. Some roasted caramel, dark fruit, and chocolate.

Pours black with a tan head. The aroma is a tad flat, but portends the bready malts hidden within. There is also a tinge of a skunky hop note, but it works well here. The flavor is round and soft. There are notes of caramel, toast, and chocolate. Extremely drinkable. Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - AUG 24, 2014
A sweet aroma of cereal grains, caramel, bread yeast, and some toffee. Appears dark brown with a slight purplish hue, white foam, and nice lace. Taste is fruity up front, of mild strawberry followed by a mild roast malt with a touch of sweet and bitter charring on the end. Palate is fizzy and nice. Overall, a very good beer when desiring a mild dark ale with minimal hopping. ClarkVV (6708) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 10, 2004
2004 draught. (thanks for addin this one, Psychprof, I lost the menu which had the commercial description). Soft drab brown with some grey hints and yet some dark yellow-brown tones as well. Small off-white head. Aroma of plenty of earthy nuttiness, a zip from the hops and plenty of chocolate. I really enjoyed the flavor the most though, not overdone, yet not subtle. The hops detract from the style, but I’m no judge. Still there is a ton of body on this one, especially for a dunkel. Chewy malty and chocolatey, with plenty of yeastiness. Medium-full body and a silky palate. allesmetkaas (170) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2013
Sample from the tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Pours dark brown with a thin white head. Strong aroma of milk chocolate. The taste is lighter than then aroma, and the gentle carbonation makes is surprising nice Benzai (15613) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2013
Draught @ CBC 2013. Dark brown color with a nice red hue coming through, full sized dense beige head that lasts for a long time and leaves nice lacing. Smell and taste malts, leaves, moderately sweet. Decently balanced, not bad at all.
