Mélasse, sirop d’érable, café et mélasse, très sucré et explosif. Plus sur le sentier des desserts que de la tradition. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 21, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Dry with some bitter chocolate. Lasting bubble head. The style but not the best example of it. Ferris (17070) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2014
Draft - Toffee and toasted malts. Jet black with a nice off white head. Toasted malts, light molasses and a very nice malty finish. Nice. Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - AUG 24, 2014
A sweet aroma of cereal grains, caramel, bread yeast, and some toffee. Appears dark brown with a slight purplish hue, white foam, and nice lace. Taste is fruity up front, of mild strawberry followed by a mild roast malt with a touch of sweet and bitter charring on the end. Palate is fizzy and nice. Overall, a very good beer when desiring a mild dark ale with minimal hopping. firstsip (752) - Michigan, USA - AUG 24, 2014
Tap. Black. Small bit of head. Sweet nose of caramel malt. Rich body. Tastes of cereal grains, sweeter malt, some mild fruitiness. Sweet but not cloying.

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Deep red-hued brown body, small white head. Nice looks. Nose is dark malts, raisins, figs and hints of brown sugar. Taste is grains, mild coffee, roasted tones and hints of caramel and ashes. Light body, medium carbonation. Nice and roasty dark lager. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - NOV 1, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2014 Tap: Deep, deep mahogany, nearly black with a big, foamy khaki head that settles slowly & leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is sharp roasted malt, some mild dark fruit sweetness, & somewhat phenolic & white pepper-like spice. Taste is mild with some light chocolate up front. Faint, dusty hops, a bit black licorice & plum, more roast, & a hint of alcohol hear. Aftertaste has mild phenolic, peppery spice... Almost like a Belgian yeast (though it’s not).
