Nip Bottle shared with my folks, pours a lighter red wine color with no head or lace. Aromas and flavor are vinous berries, cherry, oak, blueberries, vanilla, floral and decadent honey, hibiscus, and amaretto. As complex and rich as the finest red wine but even more so since its not strictly grapes. Aftertaste left in mouth is earth pollen. I fucking love honey. Medium bodied mead with some super warming qualities on a frigid night. Nothing touches old man Kuhnhenn nip bottles from ’10-12. Ibrew2or3 (8748) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 1, 2013
6oz clear glass bottle pours clear deep ruby red. The aroma offers up some floral notes, sweet honey and ripe red juicy grapes. The taste delivers a mild degree of red wine tartness as well as plenty of smooth sweet honey and a grape juice like nectar sensation. Nice stuff. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Red pour. Aroma of red wine, berries, cherries, tannins. Flavor reminds me of a mead and a nice red wine mixed. Lots of cherries and tannins. very cool mead. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12, courtesy of Matt. Thanks Man! Pour is bright pink with no head and good legs. Funky berries, yeasty, dry red wine, honey, blackberries, and elderberries in the aroma. Taste is yeasty, bready, sweet honey, dark berries, tannin, and red wine with a deep, dry finish. Medium mouthfeel with no carbonation. Reminiscent of a dry red wine with really well-hidden alcohol. notalush (5895) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Colorado mead tasting 2012 - medium tart and almost musty aroma - aroma is very wine heavy - I am not familiar with this kind of wine, but it smells quite sweet and juicy - flavor is much drier than the nose - moderately tannic - a little spicy - a touch of dry oak - a little warmth in the finish - pretty good.

2012 Colorado Mead Tasting at Armin’s house. Thanks to Matt! Pours a clear, dark pink appearance with no head. Spicy, red grape, sweet wine, tangy/funky flavor. Dry red grape, light vanilla, pear, honey flavor with a somewhat dry finish. Not exactly my thing. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Pour out of 8 oz bottle, thanks to Matt! Dark red pour with no head, dessert wine type smell, with red wine, hints of grape, peach, slight earth, hints of red berry as well. Taste is a mix of red wine, dessert like with some vanilla, honey, hints of apple, pear, touch of earthy notes, finishing fairly sweet, more red grape. Pretty nice. Bottle from Mike, HUGE thanks for a cool mead! Pour is a clear still light red, verging on dark pink (yeah, yeah...), obviously no head/lacing. (Letting the end of this bottle warm up to room temp really opened it up and made it much more enjoyable, so my rate is from that portion of the bottle). Aroma is a nice mix of fruit juice and some floral notes. Surprisingly little honey aroma. Taste is more grape juice, with an almost gummy bear like quality to it (been getting this from more fruited drinks lately...), more honey driven than the aroma. Slight alcohol warmth on the finish, no way I would guess that this is 17% though! Very smooth, dry, but not so dry as to be astringent. Really quite nice! jtclockwork (16857) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 11, 2012
