On tap @ Good Life, Masapequa, NY. The appearance is a murky brown/red, sometranslucence, off-white head. The aroma is fruit, nuts. The flavor is fruit, nuts, chocolate, hot and solvent-like, good overall. The finish is boozy, hot. Medium in body. Quite good. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2011
On-tap at the pub, drank from a pint glass...Looks like a watered down coca-cola, semi clear, lots of amber on the fringe. The head is a bright off white that doesn’t really rise, but leaves a thin cap that says forever. Poor lacing...The aroma is a bit malty, but mostly dead and boring. The menu says to let this warm up a bit to open the nose, all it does is waste a bit of my time...The taste is just malty, some toffee. Missing nut and roast; boring, pedestrian brown ale

Poured up on tap at the Kuhnhenn brewpub with dark amber body and tan head. The mild aroma offers up basically roasty malts with a sense of sweetness around the edges. The taste is full and rich with roasty malt, some sweet dark fruity esters, a touch of chocolate malts, a sense of minerals and hazelnut. Yum. Into the finish it picks up a thin layer of yeastiness too.
