2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing.......this day was long, and my notes on this beer are largely unreliable and undecipherable...sorry Tmoney99 (14484) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 5, 2007
Draft at 2007 Michigan BGWF. Poured hazy amber color with a large frothy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good complex hoppy spicy aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Medium sweet balanced flavor with a moderate smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good interesting winter brew. Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - FEB 26, 2007
Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. My least favorite Kuhnhenn beer, with a rather thin, dry body dominated by caramels and butterscotch, with modest bitter esters. This was a great booth, though. apoptosis (1317) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 4, 2007
At Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn...a slightly cloudy, wheaty looking lager - pale, murky yellow without much of a head. Strong wheat aroma, but it is clear that it is a mild lager. Dry malts abound in the flavor, yet some slight honey-sweetness. Not bad at all, really.

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil - I know that many in attendance didn’t care for this beer, but I submit that they were probably not in the mood for a "simple" lager anyway, considering it was a "strong ale" festival - this had a lot of bring fruity notes in the aroma and the flavor - the taste had very mellow, but quite tasty hints of honey and vanilla - notes of pilsner malt, some grassy hops near the finish - I rather enjoyed this one. Sweet and smooth enjoyed at the brewpub. Malty with good head, grassy hops. A style bender. BigBeer45 (1532) - Michigan, USA - JAN 26, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2007 Draft at pub (listed 7.2% alcohol), pours medium to dark gold with a full hat of white foam that stayed for a visit, whiffs of bread, pilsner malt, hops,
taste that reminded me of a pilsner with lots of malty flavor, some pepper on the palate, has a full mouth feel, hop bite bitterness with malty sweetness, if you like the taste of a lager you will love this, this came off as a heavy duty pilsner with hops, dry in the finish, great brew, I will get this again.

Draft at pub. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a nice foamy white head Aroma is a funky yeasty one with notes of malt and haoney. Flavor is well rounded with a mild hop finish. SuIIy (1983) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - DEC 30, 2005
Draft @ Kuhnhenn. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a lasting foamy white head. Nose is grassy, honey. Taste is lots of grass and honey, somewhat sweet and lightly playful in your mouth. A light bitterness in the finish.
