PhillyCraft (7235) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 10, 2013
6 oz nipper courtesy of Flandersned. Pours a hazy candy apple red with no head or lacing. Aromas of black cherry, blossom honey, oak, dimetapp wild cherry and light wax. Taste is sour and sweet candy apple, vanilla, earthy honey, wood, cherry cough syrup and tons of honeycomb wax. Lots of cherries in this one, and also very smooth and oily considering the 16%. No heat present besides the warming effect in the body. Another beautiful mead from Kuhnhenn.

6 ounce nip bottle pours a nice looking red color, aromas of tart cherries, and some honey. Cherry aroma is not overpowering, flavors are tart cherries and honey, light on the palate, cherries blended nicely with the honey, another great mead from Kuhnhenn.

Nip sized bottle. Slightly reddish tinged with no head. Tart cherries and fruity. I liked the cherries. This was a few years old and the cherries held up nicely.

Cheers to Cheeseman for sharing this one during our black metal night. pours reddish. aroma, nice cherry honey aroma with a mild hint of tartness, blossom and cough syrup like nose. flavors, light cherry tartness is there lost among a sea of honey sweetness, wine like palate, very sweet and sticky sugar aftertaste. Cherry not over the top, leaving enough for the honey to be felt and leaving a very mild tart finish on the palate.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2011 Sample at the Mead Molehill tasting on 01/10/2011. Pours a clear amber-honey color with a minimal off-white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lace. Tart cherry aroma with a bit of molasses. Medium body with flavors of cherries, honey and malt. The finish is fruity with a lingering cherry aftertaste. Good Mead overall.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2010 Tiny glass at Kuhnhenn. Pours a clear light red/blush. Aroma of cherries, honey and alcohol. Creamy cherry and honey flavor with a sweet finish. Pretty tasty. Re-rating on 5/9/10: Got to try this gem again last night from a bottle a friend brought back and (with a much cleaner palate) I realized I rated this too low. Bumping from a 3.5 to a 3.9.

MeadMe (1662) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - APR 15, 2011
Pours a Kool Aid red. Aroma of tart cherry, dirty honey, and a touch of cough syrup like alcohol. Very tasty. Earthy honey, sort of waxy like comb honey. The honey sweetness first comes off as sweet cherries. The finish has a touch of tartness though. I really like this one.

reddish amber pour from a small kuhnhenn bottle. tart, cherry skin nose and flavor with added honey...the tart cherry comes across much stronger in the flavor...clean and beautiful, kuhnhenn has a knack for meads
