2006 bottle from the brewery, drunk 1/8/17.hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2014
Appearance as pictured, clear, leaving plentiful sediment behind. Lovely, fiery, burnished copper.
A mix of clean, lightly peppery honey, rich and sumptuous but accented with plentiful acidity to balance. Almost like tart peach or nectarine. Touch of raisin and vanilla creeping in from the age but otherwise no sign of the years. Little/no alcohol in the nose, which is very impressive.
In the mouth it’s sticky, rich and full of sweet honey but almost perfectly balanced on the finish by the acidity that is lip-smacking and bright, leaving the stuff shockingly drinkable. Complex golden raisin, caramel, vanilla, grass, herbs and peach all provide an outstanding variation of flavor. Very clean, soft and with almost no sign of the alcohol. Awesome stuff.
Nip sized bottle. Poured golden color with no head. Fruity and honey sweetness. To me, more of a straight forward mead, but one that I liked none the less considering that. jredmond (8518) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 19, 2013

The pour is pale yellow/milky white with alright lacing left on the glass. Aroma is fairly complex with notes of honey, peach, apples, and white wine. The flavor is more subtle at first with some slight fruitness/honey and transitions into a boozy overripe fruit finish. Medium bodied for a mead leaning more towards sweet than dry. hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Bottle... This beer rocks!... Hazy straw-colored mead with sparce, but thick and beefy legs. The bouquet is a blend of wildflower honey, funky fallen apple and funky fallen peach accompanied by a mild note of ethanol. Full-bodied and sticky with the dawn of carbonation from over two years of warm storage - and the bottle wasn’t brand-spanking-new when I acquired it. The flavor presents wildflower honey and fuzzy fruits - pretty much as the commercial description reads. Sweet, warming finish with a nice hint of acidity. The 18% ABV is certainly well-disguised. This world class mead was provided by KickInChalice! Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12. Pour is golden orange with no head and great legs. Smell is floral, honeycomb, light apples, a touch of wood, vanilla, and fruit. Taste is white grapes, almonds, pear, wood, honey, and flowers with a dry lingering finish. Syrupy mouthfeel with no carbonation. Nice mead and not too sweet. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
2012 Colorado Mead Tasting at Armin’s house. Thanks to Matt! Pours a light clear yellow appearance. Tangy, earthy/herbal, floral, apricot aroma. Not quite as sweet as the other Kuhnhenn meads. Somewhat dry finish with a moderate boozy burn. Peach, floral flavor. Kind of interesting. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 17, 2012
