Pours a golden amber color with an off-white head and a pretty good amount of lacing. The nose brings some light bread, sweet malt, a bit of fruit, hints of apple, and caramel. The taste focuses in on the bready caramel flavors with just a touch of fruit in the background. The body is weighed down a bit by a boozy presence, which is the same factor affecting its drinkability.

Draft @ Barcade. Brown pour with tan head. Aroma of some light fruit, and sweeter malt tones. Little bit of sweet flavor with a bit of arming and dingy malt tones. Little too much warmth for only 8%. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 4, 2010
Draft. Pours an amber body with an off white head and poor retention. Dry musty fruit tones dingy malt and lead pencil shavings. Dull fruit tones salty and poor. Another miss for the big K. JoeMcPhee (9451) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 31, 2010
Tap at Kuhnhenn. Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is softly sweet. A bit of light fruitiness and sweet pale malt. There is a touch of some darker malts - Munich or light crystal-type sweetness. Light spicy hoppiness on the back. There is a touch of fruitiness on the finish. The hops don’t really come through at all like I would have hoped. MiP (15943) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2010
Draught at Spuyten Duyvil. Subtle roasted aroma. Cloudy red brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is roasted and very malty. Good alcohol flavour and mouthfeel.

Tap at Barcade. Pours a hazed light amber with a thin head. Aroma is light apple cider, acetaldehyde like, moderate fruity ester, ok german hallertauer aroma- herbal almost floral and grass and hay. Flavor is sticky sweet, some apple, herbal hops, moderately sweet toasty bready malts, a bit sticky and tacky in the end, woodsy and grass, apple and solvent in the very end as well. tap at Kuhnhenn and again at Barcade, BK - Toffee, basic sweet malts, dry, piney hops, creamy body. Brown pour. Strange, fruity marzen and nutty, nougat. Very fresh. Funky, peachy malted milkshake. Chapel (468) - Levittown, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2010
Strange brew here. They definitely got the "untraditional" bit right. I can best describe the taste as a sort of sour caramel flavor. It isn’t a particularly negative flavor, but it could certainly be more positive. Maybe, just maybe, this would have been a bit better had it been a bit colder to mellow out some of the sourness. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - JUL 29, 2010
Light cotton candy and honey nose, just a touch of golden fruits. Taste is very sweet, not much to say as far as bitterness goes, lots of honey, a bit of pear, some dull soggy malts. Not Kuhnhenn’s best work. puzzl (3260) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 21, 2010
Tap at the brewery. Clean, wet veggie aroma, with some honey, cabbage. Sweetish body, thick, lots of Munich malt and residual sweetness. Hop impact is minimal.
