Isn’t it funny that the weirdos from Tampa have written reviews of this MI mead? Ha! Pours a still dark red-orange. Nose is dark cherries, earthy honey, some tart cherries, and some mild funk. Flavor follows well. Nice cherry quality, earthy honey, and some mild funk. Medium in body for a mead, and really nice overall.
375 mL bottle. 2012 bottle. Reddish amber body. Smell is honey and mostly cherry. Lightly acidic. Taste is sharp cherry. Sweet honey. Brett comes through. Lightly tangy. Earthy finish. Very low carbonation. Fascinating mead. I didn’t expect it to work this well. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2012
375 ml bottle shared by drewbeerme. Thanks, dude! Pours a really murky reddish ruby copper pour. Hazy, dulled, with a small loose head that laces minimally. Rich haze, good glow. Aromas are cherries, gentle honey, grass, kiss of spice. Gentle sour cherry influence, kiss of lemon, some kisses of honey, grass, and clover. Initial is sweeter, medium bodied, tart. Honey, clover, gentle apple. Gentle bretty funk and dryness pick up as we move on. Richer cherry, tart and sweet at times. Honey, lemons, touches of bread and florals. Lemons, some florals, gentle honey sweetness and tart cherries, a bit of heat, gentle bretty funk is more dryness not cobwebs. Nice beer, cherry tannins, touch of heat. Really nice mead, guys. Bottle split with and courtesy of Alan. Our bottle said 17%, not 14. Pours light cranberry color with no head or lace. Notes of berry, tart/refreshing cherry, brett, and some more berries. Warming as hell and salivating in the mouth. Aftertaste is similiar to a cherry fruit rollup with some honey boozed mixed in. Maybe a tad young but still impressive. This one could be epic in a couple years or so. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle shared by Drew. My favorite of the three (cherry, raspberry & Mothership). Pours a deep red with a fizzy top to it. Not quite sparkling. Nose has fresh pie cherry, noted honey notes, earthy yeast notes. The cherries are pretty dominant overall. On tasting, quenching tart cherry notes that are rounded out by some honey bitterness and floral character. The Brett in these is a bit confusing, imo. Would like to see the same mead sans brett. Good honey-fruit balance overall, warming alcohol that never feels hot. Really solid stuff. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2012
375ml bottle thanks to andrew for sharing this and storing it at my house... Pours a dirty berry red, semi-transparent, and topped with not much of a head whatsoever... Cherry juice and mild honey accents with a light dryness throughout... Flavors are more of the same with cherry essence and a dry bitter finish. Nice fruit profile with a nice tannic aspect to it. Thin to medium mouthfeel but very delectable and enjoyable for not being a dessert-like consistency.

Had this at the Kuhnhenn Brew Pub (Cherry Funk). Hazy reddish-pink tinged with no head. Cherries, some woody/oakiness, and some funk. Honey was there, but I like the way it played a back seat to the funky/cherries. Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12, courtesy of Matt. Thanks Man! Pour is bright pink in appearance with no head and good legs. Tropical fruits, cherry syrup, strawberries, honey, white zin, and and a touch of brett in the aroma. Taste is cherry, vanilla, light wood, ripe berries, tang, and tannin with a dry finish. Sticky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. aapretty cool mead and really reminiscent of a dry white zin. notalush (5910) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Colorado mead tasting 2012 - sparkling mead with brett? - well, at least it will be interesting - hazy light pink - nose does not exhibit any of the yeast character - mostly lightly floral and medium sweet honey, as well as a healthy dose of cherry (earthy skins, fruit meat, even a bit of pit) - a touch of spice - smells pretty dang good - flavor is moderately acidic up front, followed by just a hint of brett character - tart, earthy cherry next - this is where the honey sweetness finally punches through the acidity - finish is actually a little dry, with some acid prickling the tongue - interesting, but does not live up to the promise of the aroma. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Matt a ton for the pour! Hazy orange-red with no head, aroma brought notes of cherry, oak, slight brett, some white wine, hints of tropical fruit, nice dry honey note. Taste is a nice mix of cherry, vanilla, white wine, honey, hints of tropical fruit, finishing fairly sweet, slight burn.
