On tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a hazy brown with crimson highlights and a thin white head. Fresh clean cherry. Loads of cherry, big pie filling flavor, light acidity and a hint of sourness, but not a lot of it. Really creamy mouthfeel, smooth and silky, nice light carbonation. Finishes up with a little tartness and more lingering cherry pie flavor. No idea if this is really 9%, but if it is, it’s hiding it remarkably well. Really tasty.

Tap at RnH. Pours a bright reddish violet with no head- odd sized bubble/carbonation. Aroma is cherry pie, sweet cherry skins, light pitty tartness and earth, and some light cinnamon spice. Flavor is similar to phoenix and Belgian red, but a bit less intense, and less sour bite towards the finish, but still pretty damn nice- lots of cherry pie filling, sweet red cherries, light tartness, pitty cyanide black cherry wood chips, moderate to strong sweetness, gets slightly cloying and slight medicinal cough syrup at a couple points- slight slick finish, with slight tartness and lingering sweetness. Not as great as some other examples, but far better than most cherry beers in this alcohol range. Nice. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - NOV 22, 2009
Tap at Rattle n Hum. Poured a cloudy reddish amber with almost no head. Nose is sweet with cherry and a slight hint of sour. Mouthful is thin to medium with some light carbonation. Despite the abv, this is really easy to drink. It’s a bit lift up front, with some cherry notes. The cherry flavor seems to carry this with that hint of sour coming through in the end, but lots of sweetness in the finish, almost cloying detracts a bit puzzl (3260) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 20, 2009
Tap at Rattle’n’Hum. Deep red pour with no head. The aroma is delicious cinnamon laced cherry cordial, red delicious apples and chocolate sauce. Rich cherry flavor, fairly dry (not a plus in this case), with more cordial and spice in the finish. Very reminiscent of Selin’s Grove Phoenix Kriek but not quite as strong, at least in flavor. Very solid, but certainly not a lambic. walleye (1102) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - NOV 19, 2009
